It's not just for defending himself - it's for threatening & attacking others.
Ironic that he needs lawyers in order to threaten other lawyers in illegal ways...

We're off to the east coast next week for a trip booked last year when we thought the last thing would be Trump back in. He was giving evidence last time we were over there so thought the writing was on the wall...

Delete all your social media accounts before flying.

Someone was saying they're all over people's phones again wanting to have a look around them?

We're on the same ESTA as last time and I thin this is the 4th time we've visited in 18 months or so, so I was kind of hoping we'd fly under the radar.

Not just using Signal, but Signal is not allowed to be loaded on Federal devices so that means ALL of them are using their private phones for these comms.

But Hilary eh.

Nothing will happen, they’ll just deny it despite all the proof, and the American press will forget about it in a couple of days.

Oh, they won't deny it. They're past that stage now

That didn't happen.
And if it did, it wasn't that bad.
And if it was, that's not a big deal.
And if it is, that's not my fault. <---we're at this stage, expect them to somehow blame the democrats before the weekend.
And if it was, I didn't mean it.
And if I did, you deserved it.

You could literally find something that Trump has done/said on any day out of the last 8 weeks that would be enough to take down a government under normal circumstances.

He’s completely immune now.

25% tariff on cars not made in the USA!

Going to be many pissed off customers!

Definitely going to affect the US economy more than elsewhere. Massive inflation ahoy, and car makers focussing on exports to China. Great.

I think most of the major EU car manufacturers have factories to produce their popular cars in America, it's only Porsche which is the exception.
Then there's the ultra high end stuff made here, and Italy but what's another 25% when you're spending over $300,000

Pretty sure it's parts too. So all the parts (you need to assemble a car) that come in from abroad = + 25%

There's an example on the beeb for what I think are conrods.

So you could be a US car company, with a factory where you assemble the car in the US, and still have large swathes of your supply chain hammered by tariffs.

It reminds me of Weber - they used to be "made in America"

Now it's "assembled in America"...

I thought they had a tariff on imported cars already - I’m sure it was cited as the main reason for BMW building X5s there.

Edit - apparently only 2.5%, and it was more about currency hedging, the US being the main market for X5s, having your costs & sales in the same currency gives you some protection from USD/EUR movements.

The weird thing about this is that once Americans make some money they love buying European cars, so this is gonna upset a lot of people with a little bit of cash in America.
