My colleague informed me yesterday that they closed the bridge over the Bosphorous yesterday to allow them to fanny about on it (may be my words as opposed to his)
If anyone has ever tried to travel around in Instanbul - you will appreciate the carnage this must have caused....
It's almost like they don't give a flying fuck about anything other than promoting themselves.
Wow, what a shock. it's almost like F1 is the sport of narcissist cockends.
I’m sure they didn’t just wheel the cars out and get their mates to block the bridge.
Blame whichever government or department took the bribe and allowed them to do it

@Mito Man Ah that makes more sense - I only watched the first minute or so with the high level shots so didn’t see the close ups.

That was a stunning masterclass and an unbelievable achievement!

What a way to win it - 50 laps on a set of intermediates!
Must go down as one the great drives.

That was awesome - brilliant race...
I'm happy that Vettel got a podium too.

Yep he didn’t set a foot wrong once the tyres and brakes finally got to temp.

Perfect drive from Lewis, he really had to work at that, still sounded out of breath on the podium. Got to feel sorry for Lance a little bit, led all that way for it to fall apart, but in the end his teammate managed everything better. Fantastic to see Vettel back up there too. It seemed that slick centre section with grooved edges was the perfect tyre for those conditions
Anyone notice that for a while Seb was Mexican and Perez was German?

Seven time WDC! Brilliant race. LH really is the perfect racing driver nowadays, he's added a real strategic intelligence to his blistering pace. I wonder how long he can maintain this level of performance.
Unlucky for Stroll, I wonder whether if the roles were reversed and Perez had first dibs on strategy it would have worked out the opposite way. Probably not as Perez is just better on tyres.
I hate to say it, as he seems a nice lad, but the writing must be on the wall for Albon. If I was running RB I'd probably look elsewhere.

Funny how before the race all the pundits were banging on about how Bottas was Finnish so will go better in the slippery conditions! He spun what seemed like 5 or 6 times.
Get George in that no.2 Merc I say.

Entertaining stuff - wtf happened to Strolls 10.7lead in the virtual satiety car!?! They showed their inexperience leaving him out on those inters for so long - just losing more and more time each lap til his lead was all gone.
Ferrari seemed to have some sort of random position generator - every time I looked they were in a Completely different place - mostly closer to the front though!

Stroll would have been better off not pitting like Perez and Hamilton. He did tell his engineer he didn’t want to but they made him come in anyway. The tyres went through a slow graining phase as they wore from inters to slicks at which point they were good again but they brought him in at that point.

They were banking on it drying out enough for slicks, so left him out, but that point never came so when they finally pitted him it was a bit too dry for fresh inters, but still too wet for slicks so they were awful until hey wore down again.
I don’t know how much rubber they have under the tread, but Lewis’s were about 75% slick by the end of the race, be curious to know how much further they would have gone because to the eye they looked like they were absolutely finished!
36 records Hamilton has equalled or broken. Makes for impressive reading
Could easily be on 9 titles.
This was interesting:
- Hamilton has the most pole positions and victory during the same Grand Prix weekend, completing the achievement a total of 57 times.
- Hamilton has led every lap of the most races, going from pole position to victory in a total of 22 Grand Prix.
Pole to victory leading every lap in 22 of 94 doesn't sound like complete domination.
But pole to victory in 57 of 94 is mighty. I guess many of the 35 where he didn't lead every lap could have just been down to pit stops, rather than losing the lead and fighting to win it back again.

Yeh that's what they're getting at - building a sufficient lead to not be dropped back from 1st place during pit stops.
Not a fair comparison with years gone by however as the stops are obviously much shorter now without refuelling.

Racing Point said after the race that Stroll picked up some damage under his front wing and that's why he started going backwards.

doesn't explain his losing 4 seconds under the VSC though.

Grosjean needs a lottery ticket. How the fuck did he walk away from that?!

And then some! WTAF happened? That looked horrendous. Glad he walked away.
