Snowpiercer

To clarify, the movie not the TV series

In a nut shell, who green-lights this kind of utter bollocks?!

The Chris Evans one? I quite enjoyed it. The carriage assault in the dark sequence was very well done.

That's the one, thought it was absolute twaddle šŸ˜‚

I love it, Bong Joon Ho is one of my favourite directors.

We saw the UK premiere at the Edinburgh Film Festival and Ewen Bremner did a wee introduction for it. It was nice.

There are just some 'suspension of disbelief' things I find harder to swallow

And a train that continually navigates a totally frozen earth, on which there are haves and have-nots (for some reason the haves decided to include the latter) is just daft IMO

One of those films where I kind of hoped they all died šŸ˜‚

No idea how they got some names to sign-up for such drivel (and I wonder what they made of the finished film)

Definitely one of the worst films I've seen in a very long time...

I’ve seen part of this film. I could not watch it all. I’m afraid I sit with the ā€œthat’s absolute dribbleā€ camp.

I liked the Weapons trailer, seemed like an interesting premise and its just been released to buy on Apple TV so thought I'd give it a watch.

Fvck me. What a ride of absolute insanity through tense thriller to WTAF.

Well worth watching.

Yep, watched that one at the cinema, it was great. Who knew the sound of the rear door of a car opening could be so frightening

Barbarian is by the same director and is good fun too šŸ‘

Alien Romulus

Hey guys! I've had a great idea:

Why don't we remake the first Alien film, but with teenagers instead of proper people?

It would be great if we could get Millie Bobbie Brown to star in it, but if she's too expensive, just find someone who looks a bit like her

That'd be great

Spinal Tap 2

If you have affectionate memories of the first Tap film then you should enjoy this, it’s got some great gags and some absolutely stellar cameos from the biggest names in music. It does help if you are already in on the jokes from the first film, but overall it’s a witty and entertaining follow up, although I’m unsure how funny it would be to non diehard Tap fans.

I’d give it 7 drummers out of 11

I went to the premiere of Luca - Seeing Red last night. Harris' film about Luca Montezemolo, with a live Q&A after with them both and the director. It was really good, deffo one to watch when it comes out.

He's an fascinating man, and answered every question after with a complete unrelated story. :D

Interesting to see The Long Walk has come out. I just reread the book having first read it 30+ years ago.

One Battle After Another

As good as the reviews all say. Film of the year according to Kermode & Mayo; well, it's definitely a contender. There's treats for petrolheads too, but I won't give anything away 8-)

Watched Rye Lane on BBC2 Fri night. Really good British comedy love film. Some great music as well, with the likes of A Tribe Called Quest, Stormzy and Salt n Pepa.

Very far from the usual insipid schmaltzy romcom crap

Watched Steve on Netflix last night - hard to watch in places but bloody amazing

Cillian Murphy plays Steve, the headmaster of a sort of "Last Chance Saloon" school for kids expelled and excluded form other school. It's set over 1 day in the school and filmed as a part documentary (as there's a news crew in that day filming a piece for the news so they use some of that footage). All of the performances are brilliant (including Tracey Ullman who I haven't seen in years) but alongside Murphy, it's the kids performances that really impress and I expect to see many of them progress to be film and TV Stars

Started watching The Naked Gun, turned it off after 10 minutes. Utter drivel and an insult to the original.
