Why would Merc want that nightmare again? He's a very good No.2. He's quick, doesn't moan much when he gets beaten, is fair on the track. I'm not sure I get why he cops for so much flack tbh.Alex_ wrote: Mon Oct 26, 2020 11:01 am When will Merc sack Bottas? Hamilton yet again totally destroyed him. Of course, he's a great no. 2 driver but it would be fun to watch a Verstappen or Riccardo to challenge Hamilton.

Re: No F1 thread?
I seem to recall that in Hamilton's contract there's a right of veto if Merc want to sign someone he wouldn't like as a team mate. i.e. Verstappen
Re: No F1 thread?
Yep Bottas is the perfect team mate. Always fast enough to finish on the podium, doesn’t create drama or controversy. He has got pretty desperate this year but still hasn’t resorted to Rosberg’s mind games.
You’d understand signing a young fast driver if Hamilton started dropping the ball as in Vettel’s case but why do that.

How about not having a sig at all?

3 poles and two wins against Hamilton this season - don't confuse Bottas being shit with Hamilton being brilliant!Alex_ wrote: Mon Oct 26, 2020 11:01 am When will Merc sack Bottas? Having two drivers in your team duking it out for the title doesn't usually end well

I wouldn't be surprised if Mercedes will be looking for George Russell to do a year or so with Hamilton so he can take over when Hamilton eventually retires. The boy's got some serious talent.
If you get all wobbly-lipped about the opinion of Internet strangers, maybe it's time to take a bath with the toaster as you'll never amount to sh1t anyway.
Re: No F1 thread?
I was waiting for you to reply. Two wins in the best car, fucking hell how amazing!!!!! This weekend he was the fastest until it matters and in the race, he wasn't even close to Hamilton in the end. The fact that Hamilton is 77 points ahead in the championship says it all. Max is only 15 points behind him.Rich B wrote: Mon Oct 26, 2020 1:14 pm3 poles and two wins against Hamilton this season - don't confuse Bottas being shit with Hamilton being brilliant!Alex_ wrote: Mon Oct 26, 2020 11:01 am When will Merc sack Bottas? Re: No F1 thread?
2 wins against the most successful F1 driver of all time is Definitely an achievement. Especially when you see the difference between drivers like Ves and Alb in the same car.
The points difference is not that surprising either when a win is worth 7 points more (Or maybe 8 with a fastest lap) than a 2nd place, whereas 2nd to 3rd is 3 points difference.

Re: No F1 thread?
Hasn’t Bottas had 2 breakdowns and a puncture which robbed him of all points?
How about not having a sig at all?

Everyone forgotten there’s a gp this weekend too?
Had quali on in the background but can’t remember much more than bottas on pole and the camera zooming in stupidly close on the cars through the chicanes so you have no idea what sort of like they’re taking.

Watched the C4 highlights as we were still battling our way back from Cornwall in the storm (4 cars in the scenery, one upside-down). Not a memorable Q but a good P4 from Gasly. Hope Bottas makes a race of it. Early doors 12:10 GMT lights out.
