Doesn't need to be un-SORN'd then, for the MOT. Great. Though a month's worth of tax is way cheaper then reinstating the annual insurance - I wonder if I can get daily insurance for a competition car (the Fabia).

Yes. If it didn't you couldn't tax it but would be expected to tax it immediately post test.

Car needs a service at 1200 miles, I’ve driven 600 in 2 weeks and potentially driving through Europe a week Wednesday.. unfortunately, I’m away for half those days so thinking I need to drive into the Cotswolds or Devon mid week to get the mileage ticked off before Europe beckons.
Any one of any events mid this week worth visiting?

Alpine update.
Still not fixed…
However the light at the end of the tunnel is approaching. There was an engine ordered for it last week. 5-10 days lead time then they will fit it. Hoping to have it back sometime this month.
This is week 14 and into the 5th month.

Been there myself, it's incredibly frustrating.
New engine is pretty extreme though

Did we get to what the specific cause was? Did I miss a final diagnosis?
I'm guessing I did if they're replacing the entire lump though.

You did not. Other things have happened since. It now needs an engine and possibly a turbo.

It’s bullshit. We’ll fix your car for a sensible amount if you don’t tell anyone about it. Or we’ll leave you with a broken car and you can spend loads taking us to court to try and get us to fix it or pay loads to fix it yourself and then spend time and money trying to get some back.

Battery dead on the Vitara again so time for a replacement, a bit rubbish as the car is less than five years old. The car has stop start but strangely the battery is a tiny 063 that isn't suitable for stop start engines. Looking into it further this is the battery that Suzuki fit from new even though it clearly isn't up to the job. I've ordered another 063 battery but with a much higher capacity so hopefully it'll perform better.
If anyone needs a new battery Tayna have 20% off at the moment in their ebay shop.
