I've not watched all of this yet - my boy really likes JS's Barn Find vids, so I'm saving it for him. But I watched up to the point where he started tinkering. I'd completely forgotten about Strattons in Wilmslow - it's about 5min walk from our office, and became Stratstone which mainly now focus on Ferrari.
I had no idea they were one of only 2 AMG dealers.
I'm not normally into Mercs tbh - they're a bit grandad for me. But the W126 has always just looked perfect to my eyes, and the widebody even more so. One of the best looking cars of the '80s

This was cool, love seeing what people do in insular car cultures.

Literally the whole of car youtube has weighed in on this - ratarossa, Hard up garage, vinwiki and worst of all Schmee
Ironic he's going again given he grenaded his 675lt engine a month ago but probably was in negotiations to get the car before that happened.....
Will certainly make an interesting series - if he can get/afford parts and McLaren want it back on road again.......

Probably the right place to post this - speculating, is Hoovie getting divorced? And that reminds me, has Jonny Smith split from Chops? Little things in their recent output have made me wonder.
Unfortunately that seems to be true.
Hoovie's latest video is him reluctantly hawking about a dozen cars and saying he's moving out of his dream house with the massive garage and taking the car storage with him.
Tavarish also separated recently.
I need to stop offering all these YouTubers marriage guidance.

I wondered if the new Hoovie video was about that. Surely selling the cars should allow him to keep the house?
Will watch it but it’s half an hour and features Doug de Muro so maybe I won’t get through the lot.

Doug is only at the beginning.
Maybe he's selling to move closer to the Car Wizard.

If he is getting a divorce he fell for the oldest trick in the book.

What's that? Getting married?

I’m not sure advertising the fact that you’re desperate to sell will help the value.. but maybe the view revenue will make up for it.

Second oldest trick then.
The way I've seen it play out many times: Wealthy white man who has had a failure in their love life suddenly find an easy going foreign attractive woman who says yes to everything. They go on a few dates and everything is good, the only catch is they have family abroad (almost always SE Asia) who they contribute financially to. So they continue dating and the man starts contributing to the family too and then they start with the holiday trips to visit the family back in SE Asia which become more like charity trips.
They get married and have kids and now the wife wants to bring her parents over. With the combined income and assets the couple have it should be much more simple to sponsor. Eventually the legal work gets sorted and they come over and the husband ends up buying her parent's a house to save his own sanity and marriage.
He'd think life would be perfect for the wife but out of nowhere things sour and culminate in a divorce. In about 5 years the Ex-wife has got her parent's their dream life, she has got herself her dream life and she's still young enough to go marry someone she actually loves and have kids with. Meanwhile ex-husband is just paying the bills for it all wondering where it all went wrong (Hint - first date).
