First debate tonight should be worth a watch.

I think it'll be a snooze.

Trump will bluster and Biden will ramble on like a 4000 year old man. No useful information will be obtained from either.

That was pretty much as pointless as we all thought it would be - Trump just behaved as he always does, like a spoiled child, lying through his teeth.
The near universal verdict was - expressed in the words of CNN’s political correspondent Dana Bash – a “shitshow”.

I recorded it to watch today but after seeing a highlights clip I don't think I'll bother. The fucknut in Chief just shouts down or talks over Biden constantly.

I was getting infuriated watching that so the 90min broadcast will be getting deleted. Still can believe so many people vote for that lying, tax dodging cunt!

I think it's safe to say that Trump isn't planning on leaving now. He's said he'll dispute the election result, he's weighting the the Supreme court in his favour and he's telling violent alt right groups to stand by.

Almost makes you forget that our government is trying to ban any education sourced from a remotely left wing/social justice angle .

Yeah, I was the same - I read a few reports and sounds like its just an infuriating mess so I'm not going to waste time watching it.

The President of the United States of America failing to condemn white supremacists is surely a low point and a terrifying thing to contemplate...

One of my close friends is absolutely convinced the US is heading towards civil war

I guess it doesn't take much imagination to see it happening, which is worrying in itself!

All these right wing militias are salivating at the thought of it. They'd like nothing better than to start opening fire at protestors en masse.

That is so much worse than I had read. But what I see is he has absolutely no idea who the Proud Boys are or what they represent, only that they aren't "Left" and therefore are on his side.

TBH having heard it he's clearly more interested as pushing Antifa as the made up threat for this election.

Did that migrant caravan everyone was so scared of ever make it to the US?

Its been on that trajectory for most of his presidency though and I'm genuinely surprised there's not been all-out war in some states given the protests in recent times and the scenes with far right groups turning up with fully automatic weapons etc. Trump has time and time again had the chance to call these people out, defuse the situation and done absolutely nothing about it. I do wonder what will happen if he loses this election though because he's been laying the groundwork for a narrative where he's cheated out of it for a very long time now. Could that see a call to arms from him?

Its ironic, but do you have to give the actual far right some credit for not resorting to mass violence despite what's been the president basically egging them on to do it?

They haven't had to, the state is doing it for them.

I think if/when he refuses to leave the a White House it’s pretty much inevitable.

Impressively, when given the opportunity, on a silver platter, to simply say 'i entirely disagree with white supremacists' he still manages to not do it. He literally can't say it.

I mean, appeal to your base and all that, but I'm fairly sure most moderate right wingers don't actually want to publicise they agree with violent anti-Semitic racist cock ends.
