I watched quite a few things from the first day - Franz Ferdinand getting Peter Capaldi on was great, En Vogue were fab though the medley of covers in the middle of the set was a bit wedding party rather than Glasto, Lorde doing Green Light was good though that was tacked on to her playing through her new album which was released yesterday and I didn’t watch all of that. Wet Leg were musically really good; I’d been a bit put off them by the image change and more snarling singing but that seems to have mellowed and doing Chaise Longue now compared to the Glasto 2022 was actually improved. Unexpected.

Had super grass on in the background last night, a few good grief that sounds awful moments, but meh, several bop along classics I can still remember word for word.

I’m sure a lot of bands sound better when you’re there than on tv.

Don’t really get the new look wet leg, music still sounds ok on the radio but idk, seems a little manufactured for the sake of it.

Didn’t bother watching the 1975 as I think they’re a bland MOR borefest at the best of times. Will have a look around iPlayer and see what other sets are on there although last night the menu seemed awkward to navigate and selective in what it showed.

I thought Four Tet were good

I made it through 1 1/2 songs of the 1975. Christ what utter utter shite. I put on Loyle Carner who was really rather good. Love the live band

I turned on Supergrass but turned off half way through the first track - Gaz’s voice just wasn’t great and I don’t think that’s because I was watching on tv.

Wet Leg seem to have become visually Rhian’s thing with some trad indie kid backing which is both such a change and so internally inconsistent that I agree, I didn’t like it and didn’t think it worked. I’m gradually changing my mind now. But I am perhaps looking forward to the next album and less of a deliberate selling sexuality.

We tried watching various acts. Thought it was all boring as fuck and watched the latest Taskmaster instead. Even our 9yo said that if the rest of Glasto was this boring he won't be bothering this year

About the only thing we enjoyed was Blossoms' Charlemagne.

Hopefully there'll be a bit more life in today's acts.

The first super grass song was bloody awful, but they did get better.

Live music is always miles better live, even if they are a bit rubbish. I’ve only ever been to one actual festival but everyone I saw was great out in the sun, a few beers deep, even if I wouldn’t chose to listen to their sets at home or in the car.

Just watching Alanis Morrisette from yesterday in iPlayer. Very good really - Hard to believe it’s her first time playing given her music style would have been right up Glastonbury’s alley at the height of her fame.

Yes her set was very good, the sound of my late 20s right there.

Just watched him from yesterday - what a comeback. I found it all a bit emotional to be honest.

Fair fucking play to him!

Watched that this morning and thought it was great. Obviously Merv’s 9yr old has spoken though. Maybe Oasis would be more his thing 😂

Looking forward to watching the Alanis Morrissette set.
Was at Olivia Rodrigo with the girl yesterday (BST Hyde Park), so interesting if she does the same set tomorrow night.
The Last Dinner Party (very Kate Bush/Florence and the Machine) and Girl In Red (more rocky/sweary) were supporting.

Nah He just likes stuff he can headbang to  Be that rock or decent dance music. Most of yesterday's acts were bland as. Tbf I haven't seen Alanis Morrisettes set yet.

Looks like there's some better acts on today.

I hear the BBC were going to skip broadcasting Kneecap live because they're terrorist sympathisers* or whatever.

So that's all sorted, no controversy, phew.

....whoopsy

*They allegedly waved a Hezbollah flag at a London gig, and as Hezbollah are a proscribed terrorist group, showing support is, strictly speaking, a terrorism offence if proven guilty.

I enjoyed Pulp. Couple of moments weren’t all that sonically but Jarvis seemed on good form and the crowd seemed to be enjoying it too.

Obviously he (and we) has got older, but still seems crazy that different class was 30 years ago!

Yeah, decent performance that from Pulp. Gary Numan was decent as well. Not caught Amyl & the Sniffers yet but they're usually good value, and I only caught a bit of Weezer.

Deftones had to pull out apparently. Bit of a shame.

Loved pulp. Sure it wasn’t musically perfect but it really didn’t matter.

Poor Candida’s arthritis looks really bad bless her. 45 years dealing with it but she can still play

The Red Arrows was timed to perfection 8-)

Edit - Raye was fucking brilliant too…

I know nothing about Charlie XCX. But after that intro I'm trying to pin down what 90s techno track she's sampled...

Charli doesn’t respect people with epilepsy, but she has worked out what I did about 35 years ago: a strobe light makes you look like you can dance much better than you really can 😄

Ah so she’s the artist behind half the crap songs on Spotify’s “today’s top hits” playlist
