Where's the spunking cock drawn on the boot lid?

You know, I'm not sure there'd be enough space to do such high art the justice it would deserve.
That said I fully expect someone will do that for me before the weekend

MX5 has been aligned by Dan. The main dealer didn't do anything to check the alignment when they fitted the lowering springs and it certainly needed checking, judging by the text message I got from Dan saying 'Front toe-in is 9mm, should be no more than 1mm'. That does explain the uncertain turn-in I'd been feeling
Looking forward to re-learning how it ought to drive after 2000 miles of getting used to it before.

Hopefully it hasn’t trashed your tyres!

As Jobbo had mentioned a couple of unusual responses, I ran my hand quickly over the surface of one of the front tyres when he was here. I took care to be gentle - like making love to a beautiful woman - but I didn't detect any notable feathering.

When I got that text, I did ask Dan to have a look at the tyres. They aren't unduly worn. Steering feels a bit lighter though now, and I bet my economy was worse.

I regreased the brakes on the 6 series. Driving it a fair bit in the winter and liberal amounts of Bilt Hamber wheel cleaner appear to have washed away all the grease leading to much brake squeal when the brakes were hot. Trying out Liqui Moly bremsen anti queef paste in the hope its more durable but it's doing what it says on the tin following a trip to the craplands of Reading today.
Never found out the electrical drain issue. I disconnected the alternator to the car which sorted it but the alternator was still connected to the starter so I got a clamp meter with bluetooth data logging so I could just clamp it round and measure things. Anyway, after a few weeks and 1000+ miles the car drew no more than 0.020 amps, most of the time it was 0.010 amps. However I have trust issues and carry a spare 12v battery in the boot

I might park it the other way around tonight and see if it sits a bit more nicely.

Nice. Only I don't like how the mirrors park facing up. Makes it look like it's doing a "Gee! I don't know." sort of shrug

Yeah, it is a bit goofy, but given the roadworks and parking here, I'm not risking leaving them down...!

Here you go. Parked in my mates drive last night in slightly more even light.
Properly stunning
A lovely rear-end and I'd forgotten how compact they were. You're going to have a whole load of fun with that Beany. Well done.

I'll find out if it rains any time soon

it'd not surprise me.
I just turned the car around to park it with it's back to me (I can't work ATM so WTF else am I supposed to do?) and it's a damned good looking car from my front door.

I actually got around to this, this morning.
No pics as yet, been busy grumbling at the workmen who cut off my fucking broadband (And have now sealed over the hole they made....) and playing with a neighbours cat

The Z4 is the car that turned my attention away from French tat many years ago. Sat in one at GFOS when they first came out. Fitted like a glove. Whilst I never got one (couldn't afford it) when we were looking for a new car for the wife back in 2011 we dropped by a BMW dealership and sat in a 1 series coupe, and had that same feeling. And that was that.

i changed the battery on the elise earlier, it wasn’t too bad a job (made easier by the battery having a handle to lift it out). the only issue is the rev counter still isn’t reading right - it’s basically sitting all the way round past the end of the dial.
i tried some resets i found on line with the trip button, but they didn’t work (though they did manage to fuck up my speedo temporarily!) The only thing that fixed it previously was doing a battery refresh thing in the ctek, but i think that probably killed the last battery eventually!
There’s always something wrong with these things!! i don’t mind though now, it’s a whole different game when it’s not the car you rely on!
