Mustang is looking a lot better these days. Gets loads of attention!

Booked into the Modurstang next month for Pedders lowering springs and dampers. I opted against coilovers as S197's are already quite raw, as I was advised that the coilovers are actually quite hard to live with on these. The EZfit Pedders are apparently the best of both worlds.


My fiancée drove the Mustang today for the first time (where these pics were taken) she's previously been a little reluctant due to the LHD and the heavy clutch, etc.

She had a blast! Didn't stall it once and took to it like a duck to water. She then started putting her foot down, and pulled in small audience of ramblers who's stopped to see what the fuss was about. The noise and giggling keeping them engaged

We really enjoy the Mustang. It's flawed, yes. But just such great fun and always an event.

That said, after some 600 miles, not enough meals and not amazing sleep this weekend, I'm an absolute mess of aches, pains and just being plain exhausted this morning.

600 miles has made you exhausted? Have you become a soft southerner, you great Jessie?

A decent trip home is such a good bonding experience. And I've had at least a couple of much newer BMWs which have required the AA to assist on my first journey Enjoy it.

Truly, being in that there engerland (and more recently, being in the south) has made me catch being a southern jessie

Now, where's me lager shandy...

I've ordered a cheap BMW-oriented scanner seeing as my bro has all the E-chassis stuff I had, and that'll do till I rebuild that collection.

EML fault code is related to exhaust vanos solenoid. Scary sounding, right?

It's a 20 minute job to remove it, clean it and refit, and if that doesn't make it go away, they're £150 direct from BMW, or you can get the (I think) OE one from pierburg with the BMW logo ground off for about 80 elsewhere.

So nothing major, in the grand scheme of things.

I was surprised when we had our cars parked next to each other, the the VXR8 was only slightly bigger than the M3.

Touchwood something I'm yet to have to do. As you say, should be a fairly simple job.

However, before you spunk on new solenoids I'd check the non-return valve/VANOS filters. They could be clogged and need a clean. They're only about £20 new though I think. On the E90 you take the osf arch liner out and can get to them both through that. Again, a fairly simple job.

Yeah, doing some reading up, it seems relaxing then is worth doing before replacing the solenoids, but it's worth cleaning them out with something suitably solventy etc first (and swapping to see if the problem follows them etc)

I'm happy with that.

I'll be happier once my internet comes back though. Been offline/on the mobile all day with shit throughput because some fuckwit with a mini digger has humped the local comm cab, so everyone around here is hotspotting and hobbling the bandwidth this shit is a lot easier to read up on when you aren't waiting 30 seconds for a forum result to load

It's easy enough to be one of those jobs where I thought "should I just check them anyway?". But I haven't, in 13yrs of ownership and 90k. Because it works and I'm lazy. It's good to know it looks simple should I ever need to though

The missus has a slow puncture in the left rear of her Abarth 595. A repair is £33 and a new tyre is £133. What does the team recommend?
