I enjoyed it for what it was, that being a Dwayne Johnson movie based on an 80s arcade game

Fateful Findings by Neil Breen
This film gets a solid 4 out of 10 on IMDB and I suspect that’s a mixture of people voting either 1 or 10. It’s low budget, awkward, nonsensical, and a vehicle for Breen to make himself into a hero and inhabit a world where women don’t wear underwear. The script is dire and the acting wooden. At the same time it’s compelling and hilarious. Watched the whole thing and despite it being a terrible film I enjoyed it, basically it’s so bad that it’s good.
Also features a Ferrari Testarossa.
I’d give it 9 out of 10 for entertainment though
We tried watching Twisted Pair by Neil Breen and it’s awful.
2/10

Better Man - the Robbie Williams biopic. Brilliant.
I know. Nobody was more surprised than me. It looks stunning and has some really lovely visuals and subtle touches throughout. It's also a very honest telling of his story so far. Funny, touching and very entertaining.

I just don’t think I could. It’s like the thought of watching a feature-length Shmee video….

Watched A Promising Young Woman a few nights back. It's what Emerald Fennel did before Saltburn and it won best original screenplay at the Oscars in 2020. Can see why, it was excellent, I won't elaborate further, it's best to go in cold

Just finished it, very powerful. As he says at the end: it might be cabaret but it’s world class cabaret!

Watched that Elevation on Prime. Shite. Watch literally any other monster movie instead.

Yep, I really rated this film too, although I'm an unashamed Robbie Williams fan anyway. Despite that, it was a really creative and entertaining way to approach a biopic. Also finding it funny how social media is now full of Americans who've seen the film and are discovering his existence for the first time, and now trying to critique his music, without realising it is utterly low-brow pop

I’ll watch the Robbie Williams one. I’m not a ‘fan’ but did see him a couple of times in the mid-noughties, including his Knebworth gig.
Thinking about it, a couple of his early solo albums were decent.

Like the new version of Nosferatu by Robert Eggers. Visually stunning and a great retelling of the tale that he's been fascinated with for years.
But definitely not like The Mummy with Tom Cruise. The film totally bombed on its release and as I'm going down a bit of a Dracula/monster rabbit hole I thought I'd give it a go as its on Netflix and surely it can't be that bad.
Fvck me is it terrible. It's not a bad premise, but it's genuinely a complete shambles from start to finish. I usually find something of merit in movies, but this one is a real stinker.

Yeah, I never even got through that Mummy movie.
Looking forward to Nosferatu though, love Robert Eggers.
Guilermo del toro has a Frankenstein movie coming soonish too.

If you haven’t watched it for a while the Coppolla Dracula movie is worth a revisit.
It’s as camp and self indulgent as anything but it’s a spectacle.

We watched this again a couple of months ago
It's stupid, but somehow enjoyable too
Keanu made of wood as always, but Gary Oldman is really good

Axel F - I thought I was going to like this then saw some disappointed reviews so put it on the back burner. Watched a couple of nights ago and loved it. It's only going to be appealing if you enjoyed Beverley Hills Cop 1 and 2 but it was great fun. A bit GTA5 crossed with the old films.
Tonight we're going to see the new Bridget Jones film as a Valentine special. I have ordered a pizza and a beer in the cinema so I'm expecting to enjoy that at least
And going back to Better Man I watched this scene on Youtube - and while it made me slightly more positive I still don't like Robbie Williams, don't like most of his songs (which are basically all rather derivative) and think the whole ape thing is weird, so I'm not going to see the whole film:

Pretty much my views on it.. Don't like any of his songs though and my views on him may be a little stronger

I’ll probably end up watching it tbh, he doesn’t seem like a bad dude and the concept is so weird.

I Saw The TV Glow
Existential horror allegory about missing chances and trapping yourself in a life that doesn’t make sense (I think).
More an experience than a movie and if you prefer a clear plot and resolution, it’s not for you.
I loved it though, Justice Smith is phenomenal in the main role and the ending hits like a panic attack.
If you fancy something a bit different it’s worth a look.
