Don't forget Simon that he also won the leadership challenge vote by that Welsh chap, so he's won twice. He may have been elected by Tories (although evidence for this seems annecdotal) but he's been kept in by momentum.

Classic leaking to the BBC of the Labour party leadership briefing to members on how to handle the defeat.

'Blame it squarely on Brexit'. The deflection starts here.

I only commented to a colleague that McDonnell and Corbyn hadn't been seen much together on the campaign trail, and there were rumours weeks ago that McDonnell was plotting a takeover. I was gobsmacked to turn the TV on 20mins ago to see his quote, which seems fairly pointed already.

And he's an NHS worker too. Have I woken in some sort of parallel universe?

Well I didn't expect it to be that easy! I'm disappointed. The pound soaring is quite irrelevant as reducing uncertainty is a short term win for the traders. Whether the UK breaks apart and becomes weaker as a result remains to be seen.

I'm just happy I have a job that can take me overseas if needs be.

Maybe he made sure to spread the message that most of the NHS sell off to date has been under Labour, despite the best efforts of the celebrity lefties to argue that it's the Cons that will sell it off?

It's going to be a fascinating few months seeing how all this pans out for both the Conservative and Labour parties as well how and what Brexit morphs into.

Looking at the results so far, the damage to Labour is being done by BXP rather than more people voting Tory (although they are up slightly).

Yeah it does look like some labour leave voters jumped ship.

Mad that they would vote for a single issue sideshow run by a conman though.

I’m giving up and going to bed. I think the Exit Poll has over egged it somewhat. I predict a Tory majority of 30, rather than 50.

Yep, I'm done as well. They have just suggested that the swing seems to be a little lower at more like 5% than 7-8%

Zed - mad that the Scottish would continue to vote on a single issue, given the state of it up there ;)

None of the big parties give a shit about us. Who else are people going to vote for?

At least we have a chance of lessening the impact of whatever bullshit that pound shop trump will start pulling while we have some separation.
