The tories pet BBC reporter has hinted that they’ve already seen some postal voting results.
This could cause some shit.
Any more shit than those Labour members/candidates a couple of weeks ago that were tweeting pics of completed postal votes?
I hadn't heard about that but it looks like it's being investigated by the police and electoral commision.
What she hinted at would seem to be on a bigger scale than the labour one.
Didn't Matt Hancock already let the cat out of the bag on this one last week, hinting that he (or one of his team) had seen the postal results in his constituency during a street interview with ITV? Something like "I've seen the postal votes and it's looking good"?

The postal voting system seems bloody rife with issues tbh. Something comes up every GE about it! How on earth can it be possible to see results beforehand ffs.

My seat is a guaranteed conservative one (since 1924) so I'm at a loss who to vote for. Well I'm not actually. The only one that has a well written manifesto is the labour candidate. Never thought I'd say that.

A question because I’m genuinely curious, not to enrage Rev:
I’m x years time when all the doctors, nurses, police and privatised utilities company employees are working 4 day weeks, who fills the days left?

It’s an interesting one. I think it’s a pipe dream but several companies and countries have experimented with shorter working weeks and shown better productivity and improved health (mental or otherwise). Whilst this is fine for “normal” jobs, it definitely doesn’t work as well for people who are paid per job or if you need to cover specific hours.
Except, in the latter case there’s an argument to suggest that it could create more jobs. Need to cover a ward for a week with 5 nurses per shift? On a standard 37.5 week you’d need 22 nurses. On the shorter week you need 28 nurses. But obviously that’s at much higher cost, you’ve got to find the nurses etc etc etc so it doesn’t feel all that viable. But then we used to work 6.5 days a week in the mills...

Exactly, we’re constantly being told there are x thousand vacancies for nurses that they can’t fill. And they want to increase that by 20%?!
Regardless of the individual logistics, it’s these poorly thought through, huge scale change ideas that I just can’t put my name to. That’s the main problem with this election for me (and presumably lots of other people too.)
I can’t vote labour because id just be endorsing this sort of crap and I don’t particularly want to vote for conservative either. Though it doesn’t actually matter because Windsor is a conservative seat every time anyway.

NE Hants is similar. Last time - Con 65.5%, Lab 17.3%, LD 12.1%

We know that’s not true. It’s stupid, old, and/or racist

I'm severely disenfranchised. There isn't anyone racist enough for me to vote for.
Interesting election locally though. Very marginal this time in Stroud and Cheltenham. Tories could take both or neither.
I'm looking forward to seeing some of sad faces on both sides later on.

All piss taking, grandstanding and mockery aside, the quality of the candidates and parties this time around really is fucking terrible.
Vote for whomever you consider to be the most attractive member of the burns unit today, kids.
