QV hasn't been used for a while, what with the snow and all, but keeping it on a CTEK meant no issues starting it up yesterday. One great thing about having a second car is enjoying the swap back and forth, especially as if they're very different. I always forget how brutally quick it can be, even in the wet.

However, talking of wet....it's still spilling a bit of water into the footwell while driving. I'm still convinced it's getting into the fresh air intake under the scuttle, but I've stripped this down and don't see how that's possible, even firing water from all angles. Might try a local specialist to see if they have any ideas.

Stupid question but do you have a sunroof with drains that are blocked? Can you fill the scuttle drain up with water or does it all just piss down and over your shoe when you try? I've had blocked drains in Ex's MX5, the Jag doors filling with water, the E60's scuttle drains and I'm sure others.

*slaps roof* - carbon, so no sunroof

Scuttle drains all run clear - see the big void with the rubber grommet at the bottom, that's what normally gets full and overflows into the grate at the top, but it runs clear on mine. I can't see how it would get in there, I've literally run water with a can all around there and it doesn't get in....and it'd normally be covered by the scuttle and bonnet, so that's as bad as it would ever be in normal conditions.

The strange thing is, it's fine unless you turn - usually left - which means it's sitting somewhere, then getting in.

Could it be the air con condensate drain? That's another of the features and character of the Gulia?

Spotted that one of the wheelnut covers was missing from my Audi as I came back to it today. Walked round and one was missing on each of three wheels; two were from normal nuts and one from a security nut. I have no idea how they came loose since they're a bitch to remove when you want to. So I can only assume they either weren't put back on propertly when the wheels were off at its service a couple of months ago (seems unlikely in view of the amount of use its had since) or someone removed them.

Anyway, a full set with removal tool is only £6.19 on eBay so I've order them and will have plenty of spaces. Just hope they're exactly the same colour or I'll have to replace them all rather than just the missing ones. :evil:

This. I was pretty close to torching the Superb last time I tried taking the wheels off, because of those shitty covers.

Thanks. I'll need to check, but I am pretty sure E-Tron aren't 17mm.

Both the S6 and the Macan are 17mm so they may be.

Yeah, but it pulls it sideways, and the cap then gets stuck at an angle. It took about 5mins just to get one cap off :lol:

Anyway, think I might order one of the tweezer style ones for a couple of quid.

Our Yeti came with one of those metal ring types but holeless caps. Took me ages to work out that it wasn't just ineffective, it was the wrong tool :lol: Skoda clearly don't bother to think about which alloys are on the car.

I owned my Golf for 22 years and I never figured out what that little tool did, until the last few years of ownership :lol: Up until then I used a small screwdriver and found the bolt covers to be a bitch to remove!

I learned today that the same tool is designed to allow you to remove full wheel trims - the hole you stick your finger in is sized to allow you to put the OEM wheel wrench through it so you can then pull with two hands! :ugeek:

WHO KNEW THIS????
