We’re doomed.
Hint, you can't pay for all of Labours plans by just going after the 'millionaires'.

Simon, I’m a) well fucking aware of that and b) that isn’t what Labour are even saying they’ll do. Hence me pulling that comment out as being particularly moronic.

Is it a problem if we're asked to contribute more?

OK Dave, I get it.

DJ, not at all. I think tax does need to go up. I know that the NHS, policing and schooling at least are underfunded. I'm prepared to pay more tax to help that. I think it's necessary. But I don't agree with Labours absolute spending spree that they've detailed. I think there also needs to be a bit of equity too though. I want the High Income Child Benefit Tax Charge to go. It's wrong.

Absolute spending spree = bringing us in line with other G7 countries except the US...

Is there a reliable list that shows the tax levels for each country ?

Dave!

That's spending, not tax ;)

For example, Norway has huge natural reserves such that it has a sovereign wealth fund. Any charts for tax take?

Give me a sec, I’m looking for that as well. I’m not fucking Google. Maybe the title “Government spending” should’ve been a fucking clue for you that it was a spending graph?

I pay 46% tax in Norway, that’s the total amount, not 46 above a certain point etc.

Dave Rev, why are you always so aggressive in these threads? You clearly love quoting your links and statistics, so relax and enjoy the debate - no need to get so angry!

I’ll definitely be angry on Friday.

I’m angry with Simon because he’s acting as though he’s making some point to catch me out when he’s not (twice tonight). Also, I’m very grumpy today, so you can all fuck off in some way or other

OK Dave, I'll leave you to it.

Clearly in your new found spare time you've clearly had the capacity to convince yourself that Labour represent a 'balanced, costed and reasonable' manifesto and everyone else is just DIR. Go vote for them on Thursday. That's your right.

I now have to go and deal with 3 hours of crying with a colic inflicted baby, as I've done every night for the last month or so, yet somehow he makes more sense than the left do to me.

I'm voting Lib Dem. First time ever that me and my 'Northern, Labour-membership, deputy-headteacher, from a long family line of teachers and heads, died in the wool red, Labour campaigning sister-in-law' have ever voted for the same party. Her view? She cut up her Labour membership card and sent it back to them. If even she has been repelled by Corbyn and his leadership then they are doing something wrong.

Labour will saddle us with debt for generations. If I had to chose between Brexit and Labour, I'd choose Brexit. Lesser of two evils. That's how bad I see the left right now.

G'Night.

Hold up. I'd not noticed this before:

"His party also wants to set up a National Investment Bank - which also featured in the party's 2017 manifesto - which would have £250bn to lend"

Where the hell is *another* £250bn coming from ? If anyone says "it's totally fine because there will be at least £250bn of assets on the balance sheet" needs reminding what happened in 2008.
