Maybe some younger technical folk can help with this question - I set Sky Q F1 to series link F1 and I get a b s o l u t e l y every second of all their coverage stored which is far too much for a casual fan like me.

I want quali and the race no add ons - how do I do this?

Delete the other stuff straight away. I have no idea if I am younger than you but I did ask a techy mate who reckoned that was the best way. It just seems to be linked to the series link no matter what.

Basically this is what I’m expecting- if full fat qualifying mode is 3 and standard race mode is 1, I’m expecting them to just run at 1.5/2 permanently. They’ll be slightly slower in qualifying but I expect them to be faster in the race.

The telling thing about what this will do is q1 and q2, where Mercedes don’t usually use the party mode, saving it for q3 only- they are still consistently ahead in those sessions so not sure what this will change
Yep, the quali turbo nutter boost will be dialled down but I’m sure they can still change the throttle pedal characteristics and make the shift lights change at lower rpm to preserve fuel and the engine itself.
How about not having a sig at all?

Yeah, I don’t leave it on series link as it’s so hit and miss too. Just go on the planner a day before and pick what I want it to record individually.

Shame the rain never came, a few good overtakes, so about as much as we can expect from Barcelona.

Great start from Stroll and great drive from Lewis. Barcelona is a rubbish track to have F1 at though isn't it?

Yeah you know the race is bad when half the footage is the cameraman showing grey skies 😂

Caught the end of the Indy 500 quali just now - the Alonso curse is well and true. He switches from Honda to Chevrolet and this year the Chevy is crap 😂 The top 9 cars are all Honda powered apart from one.

The programs are tagged with metadata that gets added to your account for things you like. Unfortunately, the data isn't fine enough yet to allow distinction between the different kinds of programming within a type, so if you like F1 you'll get all the F1 stuff recorded. There's some new stuff coming from Sky that I'm not allowed to discuss here that may make things better but I'm not 100%.
If you get all wobbly-lipped about the opinion of Internet strangers, maybe it's time to take a bath with the toaster as you'll never amount to sh1t anyway.

Thanks - I thought it was me being old and not doing it right.

They can’t get out quick can they? Must be scary when you can see flames and can’t get a quick exit unaided

Watched the second half of the race last night. F1 is better, the safety car periods seemed to last a very long time, but as a once a year event I can see the appeal. The crash at the end looked nasty, high speed side on impact into the start of the pit wall

Turkey, Bahrain and Abu Dhabi added to this years calendar. Turkey will be cool!

Edit - Abu Dhabi will be on the 13th of December. Surely that’s as much as they can fit in and it’s always been the final race of the season so I imagine that’s this year all planned out.

8-) Turkey is a great circuit which was supposedly only let down by the lack of fans, so it's the prefect circuit for these times! :D

Glad Turkey is back, it's a great circuit. Remember when Vettel and Webber collided?

And the political maneuverings of Turkey putting "the president of the Turkish republic of northern Cyprus" as one of the prize givers.

And the human rights violations.
