Hasn’t the dictionary definition of literally been changed due to the wrong usage being its most common usage?

My favourite bit of bollocks about the Ferrari flat 12 is that all the cars that used it before the Testarossa had Boxer in their names

Exactly. Further evidence of the idiocracy.

Went googling re the 2 RS’s weight and it’s foarlu inconclusive, seem over 1500 quoted as a kerb weight. Be good if people actually weighed them!

Tasteless Argentina comment from Hammond

I doubt he wrote it ;) plus I bet the team are still pretty pissed at their treatment out there.

Tasteless because they cried foul at the suggestions that all of these scenarios were engineered.

I'm starting to think Porter is bit of a twat and is actually everything he parodies.

I've always quite enjoyed his columns and so on, but had the misfortune to watch a few minutes of Smith And Sniff or whatever it's called. Wow - he's, erm, a lot, erm, different to what I was expecting, and very much in line with the quote from Nathan above.

I loved the Reborn Lancia piece but the airport bit was utter crap.

Each to their own.

Here's the thing, I have actually enjoyed all of Smith & Sniff * but can't ignore all of the Top Gear / GT controversies that he planned.

* Except for that smug tight lipped smile he does when finishing an anecdote.

I think its pretty unanimous that he's pretty poor at scripting. The overly scripted TG/GT episodes are the worst ones compared to when the presenters are just allowed to be themselves.

I expect the producers gather round and try and come up with new ways to get the show in the headlines. I bet their viewing figures shot up when the whole Argentina stuff was out. It’s just a little lame when it’s done so deliberately.

I still have my doubts about the Clarkson / Oisin Tymon 'fracas'

What a coincidence it managed to be front page news for so long and ended up with a £150m Amazon contract.

Oh and Clarkson now reinventing himself as a conservationist to fit in with the ex-London Cotswold set.

This may be of use when it comes back into stock. :D

So you guys are of the mindset that they chose the 928 deliberately because of its numberplate? Or they chose Argentina deliberately once they'd bought the car already?

Yes

A bit like when they travelled to the Southern States with deliberately provocative messages on the sides of their cars.

Then cried when the locals got a bit shouty.

Choosing Argentina after they'd bought the three cars and noticed that the 928 had a potential pun in it is more plausible than finding a very rare 928 GT that just happened to have a numberplate that could be inflammatory to the country they'd already decided to visit.
