There are definitely some standouts in the bike world, but for the most part they all look the bluddy same to me.
I feel the same way about handbags.
Can you tell me about standout handbags? It's my wife's birthday next month.

I had to look up the meaning of Gopping...
Seriously though - what would you class as a good looking bike? and you can’t say your own...

Tim’s pretty much nailed it for current stuff: Ducati Panigales are lovely.
Thing is: there’s pretty bikes, there’s fast looking bikes, there’s evil looking bikes. What looks good isn’t just one thing.

Glorious isn't it. There's something equally right about bikes with twin round headlights as there is about cars with four round ones.

So I've bought a new bike. 2018 KTM Superduke GT in orange:
Just as a side note, I haven't yet paid a deposit. I'm going to arrange collection for a week on Saturday as the bike is in stock.
I don't know if I'd call this bike good looking. It's definitely striking, and they look much better in the flesh than in pictures.

As a non bike guy I agree with most of the racing/sports bikes being good looking, although the older ones look a bit too rectangular side on. I don’t think any KTM is good looking. And really big touring bikes look shit. Especially those massive Hondas and BMWs with the angel eye bollocks going on.
Not sure if bike aesthetics are more controversial than car ones tbh - if the E type, Miura and 300SL are the epitome of car design then I’m just blind.

I almost, but not quite, respect for you even pretending.
We're not kids any more - if we want shit and can afford it, it's when not if. Why wait?
Congrats. Oh and for the record, box-of-frogs ugly

but totally suits its nature so win all round.

Insurance renewal through - crept up to over £100
(although when I remember what it cost for the first year, in London, with no garage, I'm quite happy)

That’s mental! Are all bikes silly cheap to insure?

Varies. The renewal for my BMW K1200R (162bhp) is £150 with 4 years NCB. Moving to the KTM is putting that up to £750. My 140bhp GSXR750 costs £500 with no NCB.

I stuck a few quotes into a comparison site last week. For CBR600RR like the one JL sold, for me, as a brand new licence holder with no experience and no NCB it was £400. I thought that seemed cheap.
