The Merc bit was missing something - I'm not sure what but something - perhaps a fast lap or side by side comparison, just something.
Freddie's Stock Car Racing but was a bit meh.
The Rangie bit was pretty good. Amazing machines really but my word the price...

I assumed the FFRR was a late pre-production car which is going to be scrapped, but after seeing what appeared to be that very car at the audience filming bit at the end, I'm not sure. Seemed pretty good, though anyone spending £100k+ on one is not going to scratch the paint down straightforward green lanes let alone challenge it properly.

The other bits were pretty meh. Fell asleep in Freddie's 'exciting' race. It feels like they used up some good stuff in the first episodes and this was basically filler. I didn't watch the whole of the previous series because I saw one dull episode, and this series may well be the same.

I’d say FFRRs are one of the few 4x4s which are used off road, as there’s plenty of Harry’s farm type people here using them around their estates. I saw one driving across a field on a peasant shoot last week.

The AMG One is a bit disappointing. You’d forgive it for all its shortcomings because it has a F1 engine. But then the F1 engine is about as exciting as a bag full of spanners with a hoover running in the background. And then no doubt it will require a bag full of spanners to fix it every few weeks.

The less said about Freddie’s piece the better.

I said the opposite last night. I bet 99% never go off road. The biggest challenge they get up here is going up a kerb as the WAG-wannabe that's driving tries to parallel park it on Wilmslow high street.

I agree, just saying that it is the exception with the rare owner actually using it off road as opposed to all the other luxury 4x4s so it actually has to perform well.

Unusually, I actually caught TG last night. There were a couple of times during the river bed crossing that the front suspension looked like it wasn’t extended? Just checked iPlayer - 50mins on the nose, and 50m50s. Could just be difficult perspective, and that corner was taking most of the cars weight - but it looked a bit strange to me.

As for the episode that was the first one of the current series I've watched and I might as well not have bothered. It was flat throughout.

I was surprised that it produced a little over 500bhp from the 1.6 and still needs a £700,000 rebuild after 30,000 miles despite being in such a low state of tune.

The new 2.0 4 banger in the upcoming C63 is putting out 480bhp before even being remapped and will probably easily do 150,000 miles before imploding…

That doesn't rev to 11k though.

Freddie apparently fucked himself at the test track

I saw a couple of posts on Twitter this morning which made me think he was at death's door if not already "brown bread."

He has absolutely no self preservation so I wasn't surprised that he'd finally managed to hurt himself quite badly. I was more surprised to find out he has 4 kids - usually people with kids end up doing less stupid shit.

They probably do need a bit of publicity, the viewing figures are falling pretty badly. The last season dropped from 2.8m to 1.6m over the run.
