Hold on, insurance and tax were included in the TT running costs.
Fuel would be used whether ML or TT so the fuel cost difference alone has covered all expenses. It’s still 6k up unless we never did the miles. Factor in tyres and extra services for the ML and it’s even better.
2 cars are cheaper than 1, if one of the cars drinks fuel like a drunkard.
Dave!

330e's range had more than halved with the drop in temperature. Without the battery it becomes a very heavy petrol turbo and is going through the fuel accordingly.

Can you not set it to keep a set charge level so it's just like a normal hybrid? My Kuga and Golf both have that feature.

No question that temperature affects the EV range, but >50% is
massive.
I'm not questioning whether that's what you're seeing - but it sounds like there may be something more going on to have that big a hit?

I needed to come into the office today, first time in a month and a half, and first time I've used the 5-Series in 3+ weeks. It's having a little wobble. A battery warning on the dash and whole load of battery-related error codes logged. Heater fan initially not working at all and then only occasionally through the journey, but never at full power. You get a bit of airflow (and therefore heat) while moving but it drops right off when you slow down and it gets chilly.
New blower motor I guess. And give the car some general TLC as it's obviously very jealous of all the attention the Disco has had !

The heater fan on the X5 was doing odd things while the battery gave in on Saturday. Having said that he heater fan resistors are known to die on the X5 (ours did a couple of summers ago) and it functioned in the same way as you're experiencing until it completely died. The 5 series probably has the same part. £50 from memory and a sore back from contortion under the dash for an hour. I didn't perfectly align our blower when refitting and it hums at full speed, but I can't be bothered to get back under there to adjust it.

Dropped the Alfa into the main dealers to have the water leak looked at - my anxiety levels when dealing with places like this go through the roof, as everyone gives the general aura off that they just don't give a shit. I'm fully expecting a fight when they refuse this under warrantly as I've already been getting comments that they don't tend to cover leaks.
Either way, I have a very yellow Kia Rio "GTLine" - it's very well equipped....but driving it reminds me of my old Alfa 156 in that it drives like a boat, with bushes made from air and good intentions. It also has insanely agressive engine braking. The less said about the interior materials, the better.

After selling my mx5 in May we've been a one car household (not counting the air cooled Beetle). Occasionally we've needed two cars but have worked our way around it with some grumbling from my wife
Now that I've stopped riding to work for the winter I've found that I'm riding my mountain bike more at the weekends and it won't fit in the back of my wife's Vitara without removing both wheels which is a pain. I'd decided to have a tow bar fitted so that I could use a bike rack mounted on it until I started pricing them up, when did they get so expensive? It would cost well over 1k for a tow bar and decent bike rack so decided I'd rather put the money towards a suitable car which would also solve the one car problem.
Behold the £2000 Mondeo "Edge" estate which is pretty much as basic as they come although it does have AC and a heated screen. It's the 2.0 tdci with a barely run in 134k on the clock and 2 previous owners. A recent cam belt kit, four new tyres and discs/pads should hopefully mean there'll be no expense for a while.

So Alfa can't find where it's leaking - the claim the AC drain needs "relocating" but they won't cover that under warranty as the gearbox needs to be dropped to get to it at a cost of £600. Bollocks to that....plus it's not the AC drain that's getting in, it's the rain. "Well you may have two problems then". Thanks for that.
They've offered to have it back in, but will need it for a few days and will probably be chargable as this is outside the scope of the warranty.
I think I can resolve it myself anyway....but if not, I've suffered enough misery chasing water ingrees with my old VW, I'm not doing that again, so it could be a short ownership spell.

Happy anniversary to me (albeit a day late), yesterday was 13 years of 911 ownership.

And the most recent pic I have to hand (it’s parked in the garage right now and I CBA getting it out just for this thread):

This is far and away the longest I’ve ever kept a car.
And the fence looks a bit the worse for wear 13 years later

Did you lower it along the way or is it an illusion caused by wheel colour?

Bigger question: when did you last take it for a non-MOT related drive?

Noice.
(Although similar to Alex - I am wondering how many miles (or Miles) you have put on it in that time.....

It's had a couple of suspension changes over the years:
It started off with its original M030 suspension (Porsche's standard "sport" spec)
I got hold of some X74 springs (Porsche's slighter more "racy" option) - slightly lower and worked well.
I upgraded to Gaz coilovers and although they were good on track / autosolos, they were awful on the road. Really put me off using the car for a few years.
In March I stumbled across a s/h set of Bilstein B8 which are what I should have bought instead of Gaz. They came with Spax springs already fitted which I left on to try them out and I've been happy with them. I'll put the X74 on there at some point.

It was my daily when I first bought it, so it got used all the time. Scraping detail from the MOT website:
15-Feb-12 97,233
14-Feb-13 102,775
07-Feb-14 106,228
13-Feb-15 108,520
19-Feb-16 109,629
11-Feb-17 111,281
10-Feb-18 112,499
07-Feb-19 113,373
01-Feb-20 114,167
09-Feb-21 114,271
08-Feb-22 114,285
17-Feb-23 114,311
27-Feb-24 114,314
I must have done one or two thousand in the period Oct 11 - Feb 12 but I don't seem to have a note of the mileage when I bought it. I've probably done nearly 20k miles in 13 years.

That's not bad.
We'll politely ignore the <37 miles PA over the last 4 years - hope you get some more road time in it this year.
It looks way better to me on the 5-spoke wheels too.

Ta - it was Coaster who put me onto them. They're (IIRC) the lightest of the factory wheels

I've actually got two sets - the narrower Boxster fitment 7.5" front / 9" rear with road tyres that I used for solos, and 911 size 8" front / 10" rear with track tyres for road use (ironically).

That also shows the M030 vs X74 difference quite well.

It's remarkable how well those have aged. Good choice for a winter hack.
