I think it looks great (preferably without the wing ) and it's bloody rapid and sounds really good too. But for me it's probably a bit too heavy and I don't think my money would go on one if I had the change floating around in my back pocket.

I agree, no wing is best on this. Amazing that they baselined it against a GTR.

Looks genuinely strange to see one of those and it's not Harry's one in purple which is just spot on. Definitely prefer it without the wing.

Is it just the way the pictures are taken, or are those back seats incredibly short on legroom?

Have been listening to Smith & Sniff lately and they we're talking about how unreliable cars where in the 70's, even when new.

As nice as it is to restore as original, it will likely behave as it did originally.

Probably a completely different issue for Harry's Jag, but an issue all the same.

I can see why so many owners either do an engine swap for something reliable, or just go electric. They just want the damn thing to work!

Harry wanted to keep the period mods, ignition and old fuel injection which the engine builder was reluctant to do!

Yeah the whole thing seemed entirely avoidable.

It's not as if the car is an original factory build - you'd be crazy to keep mods form the 70s/80s that probably never worked correctly anyway.

It's like the Lucas Fuel injection systems on old straight six Maseratis (and Triumphs) - even after a rebuild by the one true expert in the world they are still crap and better left on a shelf to gather dust and use a new set of Weber carbs or throttle bodies.

Not watched the vid yet, but interesting comment from Harry. Clearly unimpressed, and given his previous role with JLR - quite damning.

Edit: have now watched the vid. Lots that he does like too. I was scoffing when I saw that ridiculous “exec seating” in the rear - Harry isn’t a short arse, but thought to myself that it needs about another 30cm of chassis to make that seat work for him. Stoopid. He said pretty much the same thing at the end of the vid. I winced at the touchscreen driven actuation of the rear cup holder cover motor - what a faff.

The colour looked pretty good under his garage lights but outside it was very dull, so not worth £7k. In fact, the spec of that one was pretty awful overall; SV doesn't seem to add much (is it intended to be sporty) and the badge on the back is utterly hateful, while as Harry mentions a couple of times the D350 is surely a better bet. Black alloys too? No.

I could distinguish the new RR from the L405 quite easily when I first saw them but now I struggle unless I look at the rear lights. In fact, I think the L405 looks better (and so does the L322) and the L405 hardly looks like an old car, so I'd say a V8 diesel or supercharged L405 would be what I'd go for. Subject to electrical issues and being nicked every week, of course, so maybe not.

That’s impressively poor. I guess the official emissions and fuel consumption tests are as removed from reality as ever if they can get away with that.

Is this one of those colours which can’t be resprayed without redoing the whole car? And you can’t fix scratches either?
If so sounds ideal on a daily massively wide barely fitting into car parks type 4x4

I was about to say, yes, it's one of those satin paints which can be a 'mare to keep looking good. I looked in to them when speccing the touring. You can repair scratches, but depending on the scratch you might have to do a larger area or even a whole panel at a time. There can apparently be issues then getting panels to match once one has been done.

I think if you're going to go for one of these paint jobs and actually drive the car, you should be wrapping the whole car.

The touring got a couple of stone chips on the bonnet in the short miles it did from dealer to me, then to the detailers the following day.

Yes, it did look a bit like the panels didn't match when it was inside under the lights. Well worth the money

Hmm. Possibly just the lighting, but the rear arch from door to quarter looked off. Maybe the door wasn't fully closed.
There's a comment that it's spec'ed with "vegan leather" which would explain why it doesn't feel quite how he'd have hoped/expected. There really should be a RR Velour. They could use in the interior as well.
