Elise engine cover has big holes covered in mesh.
Mesh doesn’t do as good a job of blocking light as a metal rover 200 bonnet

Yup.
Shit picture, but very open mesh.

Re: Your fleet running reports
Done lots of miles in the Golf the last couple of weeks, had some very bad times, found my grandma collapsed at my grandparents house, she died holding my hand in hospital the same day sadly, with my parents being at the coast and family being in the US, I've been doing lots of trips and ferrying about, which is good as it's kept my mind off things keeping busy.
To improve my week, our cat looked ill Friday as well, took her to the vets and they found she had fluid around her organs and cancer which had spread to multiple parts of her, so I had to get her put down.
At least I've had plenty of time in the car, which was a bit of an escape tbh, and it doesn't ask much of me.
It has drive assist, lane change assist and full radar and camera controlled driving, as long as you have a hand on the wheel it will pretty much drive itself, if you indicate it will change lane and overtake other cars on motorway/dual carriageways, it steers for you even on b-roads etcs and just generally gets on with taking you somewhere without you really doing anything.
Stereo is decent enough, it rides a lot better than the Kuga which surprised me a bit, in individual I have the steering on comfort, accelerator on sport, suspension on normal and sound on sport and it works well for me.
The interior looks pretty cool all lit up at night, you can change the colours of different zone lighting individually, I've just left it all blue for now as I CBA with it.
The seats are very supportive, well bolstered and comfortable.
The boot is a bit small, but the dog fits easily which is all that matters, we have the Kuga for holidays etcs.
72.3 MPG average since I've had it, done about 900 miles so far, I like it, I think it's a decent looking car, and it's nice to have something that fits in a parking space again.
Heading back to the coast 5am wednesday to try settle my grandad into a assisted living care home, as he has Alzheimers and my grandma was his carer.
I'm not looking forward to it, but at least a 5am drive over the coast roads will be nice, wish it had the panoramic roof to open on early morning journeys like that.
Then back home Thursday with my uncle and auntie with me, and my mum and dad following, to prepare for the funeral Friday, I have to go in the big funeral car with my mum and uncle which I'm not looking forward to, but needs must.
Fingers crossed for a better week next week.

Cheers guys, it's been a bad couple of weeks, me and the boy ended up with norovirus in the middle of it all as well, and he ended up in a and e with it, which really didn't help.
You couldn't make it up the last couple of weeks.
Looking forward to getting the funeral out of the way and trying to get my head straight again.

Re: Your fleet running reports
It does seem to come in waves. In the last couple of years my grandad and FIL passed away in consecutive years and this last weekend I found out my wife's uncle died suddenly of a heart attack on the Saturday and the following day I got a message from one of my best school friends saying her dad (who I've known and been close to since a teenager) had died
Its tough to keep your head above water and I find that when self preservation kicks in I end up being detatched and numb from it all which others can then interpret as being standoffish.
Anyway - fingers crossed things start to improve for you from here.

Re: Your fleet running reports
It seems very odd how it appears everything bad can come at once.
It's hit my mum very hard as it's completely out of the blue, I'm just trying to keep it together for her.
My grandma pretty much brought me up, my parents both worked full time, my dad worked 12 hour shifts in a foundry, mainly nights, so I spent all my childhood at my grandparents.
Lucky to have a close family, but there's not many of us.

Condolences, that’s some rotten luck.

Very sorry to hear of events

Re: Your fleet running reports
Really sorry to hear the crappy times, I think if it all
Comes at once you get a bit numb to whatever new thing slaps you in the face.
Cars are one of life’s great distractions, a fun drive is relatively easy but you have to concentrate enough that your mind can wander. It’s saved countless relationships over the years I reckon, gives your brain a nice way to switch the stress off. Take the long way.
Dave!
