The Up! now at 60k and just had another service. Once again, no advisories. Still rolling exactly as it left the factory, bar new tyres. I've owned it 5 years now, the longest I've ever owned a car - and I'd love to change it just for something different, but I can't find anything else that fits the brief of being small, premium-ish, amusing to drive and cheap to run....most others in its class are a bit plasticy.

Also, I CBA to start a new thread for this one, but what does everyone use for leather conditioner? Anything better than Autoglym Leather Care balm?

And driver’s side done as far as possible. I’m glad I won’t need to do this again. Incorrect disc fitted so that I can put the wheel back on and put the car back on the ground. Remaining bits are due to arrive Tuesday and should be an easy evening job to finish it off.

Also a parcel arrived. Imagine my disappointment when it wasn’t what it said on the box :(

I feel like I'm at risk of going native with the Disco. I'm looking at massive roof racks & winch bumpers even though I have absolutely no need for either. Maybe I'll just start with a split charge system and an inverter. Just a little bit. That wouldn't hurt, would it ?

If I ever got another Disco4, I'd find it hard to resist fitting a set of the 20" Landmark wheels. They suit it so well.

Although they are diamond cut so won't be nearly as robust. And all the cars (Discos, RRS etc) on the Land Rover Experience day I went on wore 19"s with chunky tyres. Less issues with tyre damage according to the instructor....

I really dislike those wheels on them. The style looks slender rather than chunky and the shape needs chunky. And the diamond cut finish is so contrary to the rufty-tufty image.

I’m even wondering if I need a spare chassis. Just in case. Seems cheap enough and from talking to my neighbour who has a 90, Land Rover regard the chassis as a consumable.

Why stop at the chassis? I know of a website where you can buy complete cars to have as spares...

I’m going to suggest that maybe it isn’t the final stage then?
