Thanks, Dave - that's exactly what I was going for. I didn't like the original Mushroom leather that the seats were trimmed in and Linen leather with burgundy piping and the Linen carpets really tied the whole thing together. It's very 80's which given it's an '87 car, fits perfectly. It's absolutely transformed the car. While it was in, they pointed out that the passenger window switch is temperamental (I'd never actually used it since I bought the car) and the rear hatch release switches aren't working (which I knew about). The backrest adjust for the driver's seat is temperamental too (not really an issue as it's set perfect for me). I'm going to order all the switches from my local OPC and I'll get them replaced over winter.

Thanks, Simon. Linen is lighter than Mushroom, but the new carpets are the same colour as the originals and you can see how filthy they were. 37 years of grime in those carpets and they wouldn't come clean no matter what I did!

I wanted magenta mats for my 968, but last time I checked they were a long time NLA.

The interior on the 968 is a bit boring, as it's pretty much all black (can I say that?) I really need to reupholster the Recaros with some questionable choices of fabric at some point

The car was originally Linen carpets, burgundy dash and centre console with Mushroom leather seats. I changed the seats to Linen leather with burgundy piping, which was a factory option back in the day and I felt tied the interior together nicely in a suitably mid to late 80's style.

You also wear vests under linen jackets, it is the law.

The brake lights were working so I popped the car in for an early MOT today (not due until December) totally expecting a pass. LOL.

1) Dangerous defect: rear brake pads low. I'd noticed the rear discs were a bit crusty but didn't look at the pads and just mentally put discs & pads on my "when I feel like it" list. No brake warning illuminated either. But it's an easy enough job. Only £103.21 for Febi discs & pads from my favourite supplier and would be even cheaper if I had the luxury of waiting for a promo code.

2) Major defect: OSR upper wishbone. This is a bit of a pisser. Very common and a PITA job as it probably means cutting the old arm off because the bolts get corroded solid inside the bushes. Around £100/side for parts. Two things are interesting:
2.1) In previous reading about brake juddering, I saw a couple of people saying that new rear upper arms cured their juddering.
2.2) The car drove very smoothly when I picked it up but after the weekend when I had it jacked up a few times I was convinced the rear had started making a noise, but thought maybe I was being hyper sensitive. Maybe I was right and my repeated jacking caused some damage to an elderly part.

3) Advisory: "under body corrosion". The bloke on reception & I had a laugh about that, agreed that it's a Land Rover and TADTS.

There should be two in ours, but I moved one of them out to give myself some elbow room to tidy up a bit, and that car-sized space immediately filled with crap and now I can't get it back in again

Following the MOT fail for rear brakes & one wishbone I'm leaning towards the "while we're there" approach. FWIW the wishbone bushes aren't collapsed like I expected, they're detached from the wishbone allowing it to freely slide backwards & forwards about 10mm

Parts ordered so far:

Brake discs
Brake pads
Upper wishbones x2, plus all new bolts
Lower wishbones x2, plus all new bolts
Upper outer balljoint x2
Lower outer balljoint x2

About £550 and I might need new brake hoses as well if the old ones are too crusty to remove from the arms. I may add drop links just for completeness.

At least aftermarket parts availability is good for these. Looks like it would be about £2,500 for genuine parts, and I've seen claims a LR main agent will charge £170+VAT ph labour these days. It would be basically half the cost of the car to do all this at a dealer.

The new equivalent of a warning light has popped up on the 911. Although helpfully it's not really helpful at all.

The SOS icon means to use the built-in SOS button which is hidden under one of those flaps which suggests it's really only to be used in an actual emergency, so the whole messaging is confusing. Of course I just pressed it and got through to someone in Porsche whose first concern was "what's your emergency, do you need an ambulance" which threw me even more.

Long and the short of it, they think it's nothing to worry about. But also don't know how to clear the alarming message.

Had exactly the same thing recently on the E-Tron when driving back from having the front motor replaced. It's in this thread somewhere....

When the button was pressed it still took me through to the emergency call centre.

I suspected the dealership might have unplugged something during the above drive motor replacement, and forgot to plug it back in again. The car had to go back to the dealership, who replaced an antenna to get it working again.

A cynical person might think they just plugged back in the connector that they'd forgotten to plug back in, but either didn't want to admit that, or wanted VW/Audi warranty to cover the cost of their labour to do this. I think it's possibly far more likely to be potentially possible that the antenna had failed as they claim, and needed to be replaced. Probably.
