3 weeks? Who thinks they've said this so a few (like everyone who went to the beach) people don't take the piss thinking that things may be lifting soon?

I think the 3 weeks comes from the fact that there’s apparently some law that says they have to review it every 3 weeks as a minimum. I don’t think there’s anything stopping them lifting it earlier if they decide to, but they’re really saying “we’re not lifting it now. Next scheduled review is in 3 weeks”.

probably helps to align it with furlough rules too. You’d be annoyed if you chose to furlough staff today and they were forced to do 3 weeks and the restrictions were lifted sooner.

I've been writing down the details of the conversations so far, but there's not been many. The fact they won't tell her what the complaint is, who raised it, what was said etc. and there's nothing in writing means it technically doesn't exist.

I've been doing that, I realise they won't be doing any note taking it and denying anything said if it goes that way but I'm hoping the quality of the notes and the detail will amount to something. It's all done via phone (working from home) which is why I can write something down.

She's also requested a transfer to another management group, same job but different managers on different projects, she's even said she would take her project with her to keep continuity and just change the reporting structure. No was the immediate response... didn't even say they would look into it.

We're supposed to be away on holiday at the moment but obviously haven't been able to go, instead I'm doing DIY and figuring out if I can pay the bills on just my salary for a number of months, depending on how long this goes on. If it goes that way tribunals aren't exactly a quick, fun or easy process and neither is finding another job in the current climate.

Hope so, I heard about the furlough thing as my mate had to furlough his 2 employees at the garage. I wonder if that given that they had 9 instead of the expected 3 million requests (mentioned in that talk radio excerpt I linked) they may relax that if it get the country going again.

We have evidence that deaths have been recorded like this in the UK too. Where both the Eddie Large and Chloe Middleton cases were recorded as Covid where one was heart failure and the other a heart attack.

Can't every death be classed as heart failure?

I'm no conspiracy theorist, but it does seem a little convenient that it started from an infected bat, in a city that had a very specific facility that tested that type of infection on bats...

That's just setting up the international trade negotiations for post-Brexit. Ironically, it'll be very hard to separate out the economic effects of Brexit from this so Boris is off the hook on that, lucky sod. If you can call a couple of nights on a ventilator because he didn't act soon enough being lucky.

A bit of confident posturing now might go a very long way when trade negotiations begin and a lot of European countries will say yes to almost anything.

Americans having anti lockdown protests. Most of them protesting look like prime candidates to suffer badly if they catch it.

Russia's death figures suspiciously low, but case figures accelerating rapidly and reports of Moscow hospitals full with a 9 hour ambulance queue to offload patients!

Uk seems to have levelled off, but how long it's going to go on for before we start to see a drop is anyone's guess.

Will be interesting to see what happens in other countries which haven't suffered so badly and are starting to relax their isolation measures.

Colleagues in Bangladesh went to work a couple of weeks ago and then were told they couldn’t leave for 14 days. Some are still there for critical jobs.
Also there are lots of people saying deaths are being hidden etc. I expect them to be hammered as the population density is 5 times higher than the uk.
India is building but lots of talk about hiding the numbers. A few of my Sikh friends are angry at the Muslims as they are still going to prayer in the mosques so there is a building religious tension too.

I think I’m 2020 no-one will be able to hide the numbers in the long run.

Here's one example.

Kind of backs up the idea that's it's fanciful to think you can just dodge this and get back to normal quickly. It seems like the only hope is to prevent it from overloading the health service until the vaccine arrives.

I only hope that because more of our population have had it than that example, once measures get relaxed the new spread will be low if they are well prepared for the test and trace method.
