Seeing as we're complaining about clutches, the one on the Accord it's way out.
The garage quoted £550 to replace it, as it's a front subframe off job. I'm giving ita damn good ignoring at the moment, whilst telling myself that pumping the clutch pedal is a good workout for the 80's Italian supercar that I'm going to own one day.

Sounds like one of the cylinders is on it's way out. Isn't the thing with these concentric slaves means that to change either cylinder (master or slave) you have to take the gearbox off to bleed them (or is there an access panel)? If it does mean gearbox off you might as well change the clutch and also the DMF as the box is off.

Think I found the leak in the Navara. I already suspected the EGR cooler as they are known to fracture, last week a pool appeared below it when it was warm and further investigation revealed rusty stains on the drive belts that pass directly under the device.
As the EGR is blanked in it already, I've taken the hoses off and connected them together to bypass the cooler. We'll see if this has worked next weekend as we are off towing with it to the 6hr endurance race.
In other news the bits and pieces need to smarten up the Vauxhall Combo have started to arrive. The Wifes fuel bills should drop from £160 a month to about £40. Shes already said how much easier it makes her life so the new seats and steering wheel plus a £60 JVC headunit are well worth it for the peace it will give me.

I don't think it looks all that bad, but not my cup of tea.

I inherited my dad’s E500 a while back, I’ve been using it as a daily while my Q7 is fucked, and last week it clocked up 250,000 miles.



It has a slight misfire hence the engine managemt light is on but it’s worth so little I’m just going to keep using it until it dies.

Also got the dash out of the donor mk2 today, the whole job was getting quite daunting when looking at where to start so I just ploughed in to it and now it doesn’t seem so bad. I’ve bought some rubberised insulation for the black gti which I’ll use instead of the fibre based stuff from factory. I’m going to try and get the heater stuff out later tonight and then it’s on to swapping the loom and central locking vac stuff over.

Exhaust is made and bolted up.

Not yet started it up as I ran out of gas and a couple of welds need finishing off. Then a couple of tweaks to the hangers before I add some strengthening.

Slightly concerned it'll be too loud, but pretty sure the baffles had fallen out of the original so hopefully it won't be too bad...

The clear lights are questionable but I think even they were standard on the last ones.

The only thing not officially available from Land Rover would be the rear corner bumpers but I didn’t want a full NAS one. The lights are an official accessory and also sold with the last ones as said, the colour scheme was also offered for a limited time from the factory.

Anyway my independent says he’s too busy for a few weeks so looks like I’ll have a big paper weight for a while. Contemplating sticking a Kevlar clutch in. It needs a new heater matrix too.

Went to use the 6 series instead and it came up momentarily with a ‘low oil pressure - stop engine to prevent damage’ message so parked that up again hoping it will fix itself.

So I’m stuck with using the rock of reliability that is the Mito

About £450 for a decent stainless one, plus I don't really like the tailpipes on most, and most only seem to have a single silencer so are probably loud.
