I thought my mitos ran out in august. Turns out I must have been late last year and it’s ok until 5th September 😄

Needs some tyres which will hopefully arrive in the next couple of days, but should be ok other than that.

Put the Goodyear Eagle asymmetric 6s on the merc, it was still on the winter tyres I put on last feb after the ps4 wore out!

They’ve got pretty chunky sidewalls, the rim protector is sort of blended in over the height so they sit proud of the wheels near the rim, and have quite a curved edge to the tread.

The tread itself is pretty plain and sportier than I was expecting, very few shaped or horizontal cuts.

They seem quite quiet, and chucking it into the first roundabout I was surprised at how much bite there was. Will take a while to see how they wear, but I’m impressed so far. Not used Goodyear since the crazy popular gds3 about 20 years ago 😂

Im running them on the 128ti. Very good replacement for the OEM bridgestones. less road noise and very good grip - especially in the wet.

Perfect! I’ll get the air ride ordered 😄

I think it looks better in real life than the photos because it’s hard to get a true sense of scale, they’re only 14” wheels on a small car which you’re usually looking down on.

I’d like to change the rear bushes over the winter so will probably leave it as it is until then.

I was suprised to find that the Giulia comes with absolutely zero hooks, attachements, cubbys or absolutely any way of securing anything in the boot at all....even my VW Up has a few hooks and nooks to keep things in place. Apparently you can get a flat cargo net, but retrofitting seems a faff.

Therefore, in an exciting running report update, I bought one of these velco-secured boxes, and it's great. Even in full attack mode I've yet to unstick it and my shopping remains stable. 9/10.

A mate has one...He let the battery voltage go low. It wouldnt start, or re-start after stop start kicked in. Dash lit up like the proverbiale xmas tree.

It looks like a CTEK flying lead that you screw onto the battery terminals :?: I did that with the Evora too - makes it so much easier to do a quick top-up.

That's the one. Convenience connector I think they call them, nice and easy to quickly plug in, then just run the cable out and close the boot.

Another moan about modern cars I have is they seem to absolutely shit themselves if you disconnect the battery.

And the reset proceedure on the Giulia is turn the car on, full lock left, hold for 2 seconds, full lock right, hold for 2 seconds, back to centre, car off. I shit you not. Who thinks of this? Why not just something where you can hold down two buttons, or a 'reset' in the infortainment.

These are good if you change the battery and don't want to get 100 error codes afterwards which you then have to delete and fix your settings again

Weirdly most modern stuff I've serviced is fine in terms of resetting the intervals. The Defender is an utter shit though - copy/pasted from online

1. Turn the ignition on and immediately press both brake and accelerator pedals simultaneously full down for 15 seconds.

2. When the oil light (picture of an oil can) starts to flash turn off the ignition.

3. Release the brake and accelerator pedals simultaneously.

4. Wait for two full minutes.

4. Turn on the ignition and see if the OIL SERVICE message has gone. If not repeat the procedure exactly. It DOES work but not always first time. Mine cleared on the third attempt.

Usually takes 3/4/5 attempts. It's like 3 mins per attempt and you need a timer :roll:
How about not having a sig at all?

It's because everyone desiging cars now grew up entering Konami cheat codes and they're making sure the new generation knew the suffering we endured for infinite ammo.

Evora is OK if you remove and replace the battery (it goes nuts with alarm etc for about 10secs and then calms) but if it detects low voltage several times over a period of time, it thows a fault code and disables the airbags for safety reasons.

So that's exactly what happened earlier this year when I was having issues with my Bosch Silver battery. :evil: That was replaced under warranty, but a new battery with a healthy voltage doesn't clear the above code, and normal code readers (like wot I have) can't clear it either. :roll: You apparently need the proper Lotus scan tool (although I am sure other pro tools would work too) so I had to get the specialist to sort it when it was in for something else. :roll:
