Today’s want
Re: Today’s want
I'm sure you're right, but it looks like ok value to me. How much less are you going to pay for a decent Ferrari? I can't see much on PH that I'd like more than that for the money (although I do think the 400i for £47k is pretty cool actually).

Re: Today’s want
It looks very good value - based on the last few years. But if you want to second guess the market... will it still look good value in six months' time ? Nobody knows for sure. They grey one looked good value a fortnight ago but now not so much. And although I might sound glib sometimes I'm not as rich as people might think (!) and this IS a lot money so I'm not going to rush it. I've been rambling about these for 5-10 years now
My original target was £40k. When COVID kicked in I was hoping it would depress prices but it actually firmed things up.
Both of those cars are from dealers, that means the previous owners must have let them go for at least a few grand under the asking price, so low forties ? My £40k target doesn't sound entirely out of the question.

Absolutely and how many Silver RHD Manuel 360's are there?
There's no prize for buying something cheap, as I get older the fragility of life make it easier to just pay up for things I like or want.
And you'll give us something interesting to follow

Re: Today’s want
As a sort of comparison, I looked at a very good condition F355B at Dovehouse in 2008 on at £40k. That was surely the lowest they went to, the same car would be £100k now.
So £47k for a 360 in 2023 sounds alright to me. Just buy it!

Re: Today’s want
That is a very good point.
Unlikely - there will be a spurt of activity for the first month, then it'll just end up parked in the garage with the Aston, doing <100 miles pa

Re: Today’s want
F355s with a Capristo exhaust do have the best engine note of any V8 ferrari bar none however. That plus it being in some great films of my youth (Goldeneye, the Rock, etc.) and seeing a new one parked up on a trip to Nice when I was a teenager seals it for me. Has to be a non-airbag wheel and a berlinetta though...Jobbo wrote: Thu Jul 13, 2023 1:00 pm I wouldn't have a 355 because they're quite primitive under the skin. The ones which do it for me are the 308/328 (primitive, but they originate in the early 70s so forgiveable) and 458 (seemed like a massive technical leap on from the 430 and dramatic looks to go with it).
Re: Today’s want
As a not so secret Ferrari fan there are more than a few on my lottery garage list but a 355 Spider is high on the list.
I've said before about my previous dislike of the 360's looks but the seem to be getting better looking by the day.

Just spotted the 9500 sign in the window, maybe it’s a typo, would make more sense. However Ford fanboy weirdos can’t be underestimatedjamcg wrote: Sat Jul 15, 2023 9:57 pm https://www.carandclassic.com/car/C1610703

Re: Today’s want
That looks like a bit of a bargain to me assuming the condition is as good as the pictures say and there's no mechanical gotchas? Or am I missing something? I know it's higher mileage than some might like, but that's not going to lose any money in the foreseeable future.Jobbo wrote: Thu Jul 13, 2023 11:55 amTrip to North Yorks is on the cards, I would suggest.Sundayjumper wrote: Thu Jul 13, 2023 11:17 am Is the market finally softening ? I still don't have much want for a 360. I know they moved the game on a fair way from the 355 in engineering terms, but the 355 feels like a proper Ferrari to me whereas the 360 feels like a GTA car which was intended to evoke a Ferrari.
Cheers,

FFS, I managed to forget about this until I saw one at Goodwood and I’ve been thinking about it ever sinceMito Man wrote: Sat Apr 15, 2023 10:11 pm Looking at these again
Real world care free Nomad. I don't like that they all have CVT gearboxes though with pretty low top speeds so your banging off the limiter at 60-70 mph and I'm too old for that. However you can get them all sorts of sideways whilst doing your best Richard Burns impression, look down and see that you're only doing 35 mph.

I’m an idiot and a Neanderthal, this was my favourite car of the show

Base price is £18,000 but the one pictured above had all the options ticked and was £24,000. They’re just too much money for a stupid thing. I’m really hoping a few people buy them so I can pick one up used for mid-low teens.
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Today’s want
I was looking at Nomad's and thinking how much of a hoot they'd be...then realising they'd be awful on the road and I suspect not many places to realisically use them (also, more expensive than I remembered).... At least £24k is pallatable toy money than £60k Nomad's though!Mito Man wrote: Wed Jul 19, 2023 8:43 pm FFS, I managed to forget about this until I saw one at Goodwood and I’ve been thinking about it ever since
Re: Today’s want
My only dislike is still the CVT - I think it would actually be quite usable with a regular gearbox but otherwise bouncing off the limiter at motorway speeds feels …wrong.Matty wrote: Wed Jul 19, 2023 9:16 pmI was looking at Nomad's and thinking how much of a hoot they'd be...then realising they'd be awful on the road and I suspect not many places to realisically use them (also, more expensive than I remembered).... Yamaha have a 5 speed flappy paddle but they start from £30k and are not very good looking
