I remember people laughing and taking the piss when Germany stopped gatherings of more than two people about a week before the uk started any real measures. They have under 3000 deaths so far while we're at 10,000.
I remember people suggesting the measures Italy were taking were extreme, it couldn't happen here, out population is younger, we have fewer seasonal Chinese workers, etc etc, yet our daily death tolls over the last few days have exceeded Italy and Spain's worst days.
Countries which were more blasé and took it less seriously are being hit worse. The USA have as many deaths per day in New York alone (10m people) than the entire uk.

I can’t believe Cheltenham went ahead, apparently it’s one of the big causes of the explosion in cases, much like that football match in Italy.

That’s london. It’s a centre that people all commute into. Just the City of London for instance has about 10k actual residents, but over 500k people work there - all commuting Every day from miles around. I know people who’ve commuted from Norwich, Brighton, Warwick, Swindon, etc.... By the time you’ve shut down it’s already spread.

Whilst I largely agree with what you say, surely the key issue is not people not getting it, but the health services not being overwhelmed? There's nothing to say Germany's deaths from it won't rise yet. Assuming you have healthcare capacity, whether you survive it seems to be outside anyone's control.
Has our NHS been overwhelmed yet?

Mike’s point is very important. Say we had locked down, and consequently had very few deaths here, what would be happening now? We’d still have to be locked down because it’s the only way to stop it spreading from the rest of the world; if that policy decision had been taken early, why would anyone expect it to be lifted early?

And the answer to end it is what?
Im happy to watch the world implode.

Let it run it's course. The damage to the UK will be worse keeping everyone locked up than a natural progression.

That's nonsense. Once the NHS approaches let alone exceeds capacity more people will die from things they other wise wouldn't like RTA, Strokes etc

Yes correct. How many people will die of poverty in the future? Who knows.

There isn't even a point made by yourself in the first place, not an intelligent one anyway which is clearly a deliberate post to provoke an answer. Hence, stop feeding the troll

Well it all depends on government policy doesn’t it? It’ll depend on whether we have the current crop of vultures or someone who gives a shit in charge.

So wrong, but I laughed like a drain at this this morning
I hope the use of the apostrophe is corrected as well as the spelling.
