The Chair

Six half hour episodes on Netflix. Very, very good in an understated, elegant way. No major drama or plot shakers for the sake of it. Sandra Oh is amazing as the lead. Very "normal" compared to the doom/gloom/life and death drama of so much else that's on. Fingers crossed it'll be picked up for another series.

White Lotus weird but good(ish) starts very very slowly and the ending isn't great, but it's certainly different.

Seven drugged fueled rimmings out of ten.

9/11 - One Day in America

6 parter on National Geographic.

There’s a load of programs to choose from on the 20th Anniversary but this one is utterly brilliant. It’s focused on the human stories from the day rather than the why and the how.

If you watch only one, this is the one to watch.

10 out of 10

The Schumacher documentary on Netflix was released yesterday. I watched it last night. Very well done I thought, and you can't help feeling for his family who clearly have lost the fun dad/husband he was.

Worth a go.

The Fog of War on Sky Documentaries

Robert McNamara - US Defence Secretary under Kennedy and then Johnson. From the Cuban Missile crisis to the Vietnam war, he had a front row seat on history and gives a great insight into some of the decisions he was involved and how they were decided.

Fascinating stuff if you’re into that period of History

9.5 warheads were already on the ground in Cuba (which I didn’t know 😳) out of 10

Yeah - just stumbled across it this morning. I love Oliver Stones JFK and the line ā€œEvery time McNamara comes back from Saigon on some God Damn fact finding mission, he just scares the shit out of the presidentā€ sparked my interest

Really well made - he died in 2009 so it was made a while ago

I can’t find that, we have National Geographic on Disney+ but it’s not there.

Shame - I wonder why that is. It seemed to Net Geo’s flagship program on 9/11

We’ve been watching Squid Games too. Really enjoyed it.

Recently had Golden Girls on as the ambient background TV. Never watched it before, it’s really good.
