Looks like Stoffel gets his bacon saved so he can continue another year with his lacklustre performances.
In more surprising news Kimi is rumoured to have a 2 year contract extension at Ferrari.
I thought everyone was saying Leclerc was a done deal??

Apparently Marchionne wanted to sign LeClerc but following his death Ferrari just want stability hence wanting to retain the driver line up. But as said it’s all just a rumour right now.

Vettel likes having a tame, not threatening team mate who won't make him look bad.

Bugger. Still at the height of his abilities and one of the great ones to watch.

Would Vettel not just insist on being number one driver and ruin the other guys races again?

Ironically Vettel seems to be the weak link in the Ferrari chain.
I think if Ferrari put someone new in the car who actually has more pace than Vettel then they will happily let the new kid continue ahead. Ferrari have already lost 1 championship due to Vettel making mistakes and so far this season it’s going the same way so I can’t imagine why they would let him stay as number 1 despite all that.

Alonso should beat Ferrari IMO. Guaranteed to give them their best shot at another championship win if they could have done it.

he could have been at Ferrari now, except he stupidly left while they were still improving the car.

Story of his F1 Career after his championships. Horner described him as a bit disruptive.

If he didn’t screw up so much he could have potentially won 2 championships at McLaren then moved to Ferrari and won another 3 there. He’d have equalled Schumacher’s record which would have been nice given he’s rated about the same but no we had about a decade of torture watching him make crap career choices!
And all this over his stupid disagreement with Hamilton! Talk about cutting the nose to spite the face...

Sainz to MacLaren to be announced later this week.
So, Gasley to RBR seems like a no brainer. STR is stuck needing someone in the young driver program. or someone who was in the young driver program. Or someone who's drunk red bull once and didn't spit it out.
Stroll to Force Stroll, pushing Perez out as Ocon is a Merc driver.
LeClerc to stay at Sauber until Vettel retires. Erikson to stay at sauber until he's finished sucking the owners cock.
Williams are screwed without their cash cow and don't make it to 2020.

Dan Tiktum to Torro Rosso? They have binned so many quality drivers over the years after a season or less I cannot say I feel sorry for them, Helmut comes across as pretty unlikable on Sky coverage anyway.

He comes across as a total helmet.

Do they bin off their drivers from the red bull young driver programme, before they can even make it to F1?

If he is fast enough nobody will care. Many drivers have and are helmets. He did say in interview he took a long hard look at himself and changed his attitude and outlook so who knows.
Or are you making an hilarious pun and talking about Marko?

I never liked what torro Rosso did with kvyat. Put him back on the car for one last chance to prove himself, he had a solid race with a good result and they got rid of him anyway

That's not what happened. He was never being given a chance to prove himself. They put him back in the car because they ran out of drivers and he was the only one they had in the driver program with a super licence.

Does make me wonder if this kind of treatment of their drivers, is why Daniel Ricciardo wanted to leave.

Nah, he’s leaving to roll the dice. He’s done well at RB but he’s reckoning that they won’t have a championship car for the foreseeable.

Sainz is confirmed to race for McLaren in 2019.
