There’s no way I’d buy a car without seeing one first because they’re just too much money to take a lax approach with. There’s lots of differences between cars and if I’m going to sign the lease on a car which is going to be two years or more then I need to know I’m not going to resent paying out for it each month because something isn’t quite right.
I also can’t remember the last time I did a short test drive, lots of places do 24 hour test drives, dealers are happy to let you go out on a decent run etc.

1. Decide what car I want next
2. Buy the first one I find after a 10 min spin around the block to make sure it isn't fucked.
End.

I’d want to see it in Doom Blue first before ordering. I don’t get the online car thing at all, despite being in a profession (publishing, moving towards analytics) which demands progressive thinking.
And those US figures are scary. Every 1 in 70 or so? Wonder what the UK figures are.

I'm not buying the internet hysteria here, a default rate will be factored into the business model, arrears don't necessarily mean they will all default and even then the security of the vehicle would limit losses.

You’re DIW! Who the hell buys cars they have actually seen and sat in these days

Besides, if it’s fucked, you can just hand it back at the end of lease, I’ve never had an issue with these things before so you’re no different to me.

Significant price drops for the high end versions Model S... Does seem like Tesla are all over the place at the moment.
https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/tesla/mod ... 00-cheaper
As I've blathered on in the past, I really liked the Model S I test drove a few years ago. But with the quality of the Model 3 being terrible, and the unpredictable behaviour of their pricing (knock on effect on residuals) I don't think I'd buy a Tesla anymore, and I was a bit of a fanboy at one point.

Imagine buying a car for £137k and then it being available for 87k the next day!?

Yeah - that will rather piss on the cornflakes of recent buyers.
