There are a lot of Citroen Cactus around here as it’s great at being a small family car. The more variety the better.
Dave!
I love the Citroen Cactus

If Honda stay true to the concept, I'm quite looking forward to their Urban EV (which I suspect will be a fad car)

As others have said, they're very good off-road. There's a few on the shoot that I'm involved with. I personally wouldn't buy one - too cramped, underpowered and not good on the motorway. Plus I'd prefer a wet dog to be in the boot, not sat right behind me!

Its got the look but nothing else as a family workhorse and the Skoda Yeti isn't available anymore.
The Yeti is the Daddy of cheap family motoring.

I did until they added the air-filled rubber cladding to the new C3. That made the original Cactus lose its uniqueness.
Love the shape of that Honda concept above.

I'm very fond of the Ph2 Yeti

Aye I think it looks great.
As for the Jimmy, it’s a cool little thing and if you need a small cheap off roader Suzuki are still the go to aren’t they?
Swapping an actual car for one is bonkers though.

I must admit that I considered the idea of a Jimny very seriously a month or so ago, knowing the wife would be taking over the practical car duties. Then I came to my senses.
If space was no object though I'd certainly have one for the occasional bit of d1cking about.

£15k is a lot of money for "occasional bit of dicking about" though, isn't it?

£15k for a painfully slow, small, no doubt uncomfortable car with no storage space
I’m guessing it’s suits a niche lifestyle very well. I think they look good, in a quirky sort of way
But nobody yearns for the old Jimmy, do they? The old Jimmy is pretty similar to this one, yet you don’t know anyone who drives one. There’s a reason for that...

They seem pretty popular - used values reflect that. Do you never go outside the M25?

I live outside the M25, in the actual countryside
I expect used values reflect the low sale numbers?

Supply and demand - the previous Jimny was sold for 18 years or something so there are a fair few around:

What I'm saying is: your view of them is probably a bit unrepresentative because they have always been popular.

In fairness to Rev, he lives in the north. £15k up there buys a whole street of houses

Perhaps
But I don’t see one per day, or per week, or probably even per month
Maybe there irregularly unpopular where I live. Possible, I guess

My mates dad who owned a garage and off roaded a reasonable amount, swore by the old Jimny he had. He said he saw heavy 4X4s get stuck, where the Jimny would get through with not much struggle.
