Ordered a small package on Amazon this weekend, basic delivery so I planned it to arrive at my house while I'm off this week, Tues-Fri. Just had a mail from Hermes telling me delivery is due today, despite Amazon saying Weds/Thurs delivery. So that's the end of that package then..

For me DPD are as bad as Hermes. I think their success rate must be about 1 in 50 at my flat and at work they consistently try and deliver outside of normal working hours (8am-6pm), even though all the parcels that come via them are business to business.

UPS lost one of our packages last week, only to return it to the office several days later without even trying to deliver it. They are generally fine with deliveries to us from our suppliers, even though the driver can't remember my colleagues name for signing after coming to our premises for six years - How many 'Oggies' does he deliver to?

DHL seem to get it right every time, both with collections and deliveries, and Amazon Prime are also consistent.

We probably post about 20 items a week and receive 50, with some of them having several thousand pounds of hardware in, so it's a headache when items go wandering.

Could be worse, it could've been DHL, aka "Drop it / Hide it / Lose it"; my heart sinks whenever I see that they're involved as the parcel will inevitably end up smashed to tiny pieces, delivered to someone called Jeff in Mogadishu, or missing in the bowels of the depot in Croydon.

Generally, Hermes and DPD have been fairly good round our way.

Forgot to update here. Package was lobbed over the side gate and the delivery noted as "delivered to secure location". Kinda true as I lock the gate. Lucky for him/me it didn't rain again until I got home, as head phones don't generally enjoy the damp..
