You genuinely think that because he hides his real identity, it’s ironic that I mentioned his gift for self promotion?

How else does a graffiti artist end up making millions at auction?

Doing what Banksy does "overnight, without being seen, in public, on a wall, to appear in the morning" = brilliant

Doing that type of art, in a Studio, with all the time in the world to work on it = not particularly interesting to me

Large scale graffiti art is studio art. No one just rocks up to a wall and busts out a 10' x 12' mural off the top of their head. It's weeks or months in a studio planning the design, practicing layouts, prepping materials. The way Banksy does it is actually easier than some other artists as he uses stencils or even sticks prepared posters to the wall. He was never not a studio artist.

I think you’re just looking with someone to argue with for some reason, I’m out.

But the overnight and the secrecy thing is (edit - Was) the key to who he is I suppose

I've seen Graffiti that's way better than anything that Banksy has produced but never produced in the way he did it - cloak and dagger, through the night, torches, time pressures etc.
