Local split in lawyers in big international firms out there is much more 50:50 ex-pat to home grown these days actually. Probably even more in favour of local lawyers now.

Went out in Hammersmith (where the office is, not by choice) and a pint was £6! Luckily the pub was also part Thai restaurant and the food was amazing.

Admittedly when I saw the R8 one of the 2 year qualified lawyers bought out there on account of the err, preferential tax rates it did tempt me for a moment. Cars over a certain threshold in HK by contrast attract 100+ % tax Top tax rate of 15% would help with that though!
