Ex-pats that live and work in South East Asia.

I wouldn't expect people that would struggle to locate Singapore on a map to have an abbreviation for it. ;)

Local split in lawyers in big international firms out there is much more 50:50 ex-pat to home grown these days actually. Probably even more in favour of local lawyers now.

My mates who live there refer to it as “Singers”

Even better. Or worse.

Went out in Hammersmith (where the office is, not by choice) and a pint was £6! Luckily the pub was also part Thai restaurant and the food was amazing.

Exactly - I thought the particular brand of knobs out your way referred to it as Dubs

Admittedly when I saw the R8 one of the 2 year qualified lawyers bought out there on account of the err, preferential tax rates it did tempt me for a moment. Cars over a certain threshold in HK by contrast attract 100+ % tax :( Top tax rate of 15% would help with that though!

As does zero tax, of course.

No tbh Dubai is full of cunts. Worse than me.

I just avoid them - they don't last long anyway.

I have heard of Singers, and Ab Dabs for Abu Dhabi. Just HK for Hongers ;)

HK is weird though from what I’ve heard from friends who live there. The middle class find it normal to live in a 1 bed flat with the entire family. As in Grandparents, married parents and their kids
How about not having a sig at all?

Also Monaco must have a cunt:decent person ration of 1:0. After all every resident is just a cunt trying to hide their wealth but you spend a week there and notice it’s just full of horrible people interspersed with Russian hookers outside the more popular areas.

Houses are definitely tiny out there. The pictures of the worst off are pretty upsetting. Nice bit of perspective for those complaining about housing in the UK:

Emirates stewardess I know refers to Abu Dhabi as The Sandpit. ‘Heading back to The Sandpit’ etc etc.

Monaco surprised me with its lack of cunts and non-sniffy atmosphere.
