Is the result in yet?
They're probably too busy on the phone to the AA to update us.

Technically, he'd stated that prior to the poll, so I'm letting that one go.

Plus it's something of an elective breakage

It's got to be the Ranga, on basic principle. Though there's always the possibility of something fundamental imploding on the Toerag... I think I have 4 days in the "how long will the HoyleyMobile work before it breaks down" book.
As for cost to fill the tank, pfft - the 928 has been costing me over £100 to fill from empty since about 2014.

I'm treating it as "wear & tear", rather than "broken". I know it's a fine line though.

The Navara has decided to use about 2.5 litres of water. I'm done with it. Not throwing any more money at it. The wife is getting a small petrol van for work and I'm buying either an L200 or Hilux doublecab, lower miles and nice. It will be used for racing, discos and family duties not for walking dogs.
Carl.

Predominantly self preservation otherwise I'd almost certainly buy one!

Totally agree. No point in worrying - just fix it when it breaks. Ain't hard.

Hm, I wouldn't fly on an airline with RR reliability record though!
A mate had an Overfinch one and on the odd occasion it worked he absolutely loved it, another mate had a V8 and again, his favourite car ever (he had 911, TVR all sorts) but it rarely worked so he got rid.
The two guys now drive a Cayenne derv and a 420D M sport now!

The early ones are notoriously bad.
The TDV8 3.6 I have is somewhere in the middle, and the later 4.4 TDV8s are supposed to be great.
It's a fantastically complicated bit of kit. While it stays working I'll keep smiling as it really does define 'a nice place to be'
The minute it leaves me stranded I'll no doubt want to introduce it to the swan vestas.
A later one would have been great but I couldn't bear dropping 15-20k and having it ruined in 10 minutes by kids.
This is a compromise for now.

Results in, and Sundayjumper wins.
Turbo failure on the left bank, so it's getting 2 new ones as that's the done thing apparently.
a reassuringly expensive bill that's approx 2/3 of what it cost me to purchase the WHOLE CAR!
Meh.
