Forget launch control; just put it in Sport+, select 2nd at a standstill and mash the throttle. That was by far the most epic way to get off the line in mine M135i

what diffs do they have?

Open diff but has active differential braking to mimic a proper diff. It leaves big 11's and slides nicely so it works effectively enough.
