I would like to petition for the posting of e-start vids in place of cold-start efforts.

Nothing ever sounds as good idling as it does under load. Particularly when cold..... :?

Maybe you should submit a request to the original poster of this thread to start a poll?

I would submit the below to refutate your argument good sir:

ETA: this has nothing to do with my car being hopeless at e-starts other than a chirrup of wheelspin and generating copius amounts of noxious clutch odour :?

So we agree that apart from a V8 or V12 everything else sounds shit when cold. Good.

Yeah - this sounds shit ;)

Srsly though - most 6s sound decent on a cold start, if not quite as trouser tenting as that maserati or an aston or ferrari v12.

Yes, my 4-cylinder BMW on the first page sounds absolutely shite, doesn't it.

Tim might have the right idea - you might need blocking on here.

I didn’t even play the bike ones and forgot about them as I’m a NBG. Sorry.

People trying to capture cold start sounds with a phone mic (or worse), 3 feet from the exhaust tip are DIW.

It'll sound nothing like any of these in real life.

Yes I suggest people start putting their phones inside the exhaust for maximum aural accuracy.

We seem to be lacking actual footage taken by you to back your statement up however.

Cant even hear it idle over the back ground noise. I’ve heard Audi R8 v10 start up and it sounds quite diesel like, M5/6 v10 sound quite diesel like. Dodge Viper on start up actually sounds like a tractor.

I'm keeping my powder dry for when I've got the centre silencer bypass fitted saturday week. Rest assured footage will follow.

If you really cannot wait, however, it will essentially be this set up (though obviously without the 'blaady 'ell's as I'm not a cockney):
