Oh I didnt mean to be nasty. The issue is with specialist cars only a few people in the know, know. Unless its red and sexy, unforts this isnt either.

Yep, again agreed. Funnily enough the throne-reading-material-of-choice today was the old Evo that pitched the Spec against the M3 CSL and I guess what we know call the "picnic table" - very apt.

This is possibly a stupid idea, but is it worth speaking to a Bryn-type who does international dealings, and see if there's more biters at the right price back in the far east, where it'll be better known?

Possibly a chat with Lichfield and other specialists and see if they know where the markets are hot for them?

Can you imagine taking that to a Subaru owners meet?
What do you drive?
I drive a 2006 Subaru Impreza Sti 4cam Tbo Ft 4wd - rolls off the tongue doesn’t it.
And guaranteed to get you all the ladies (if there are any present) in the same way that the number of degrees you have listed on your business card is directly proportional to how much women throw themselves at you.

For some reason that title comes up on a PC browser but is correct from a phone. Some PH bug

It should be the far more snappy "Subaru Impreza STi Spec C V Limited Arai Edition"

Marv, we should bring our cars to meet Mark before he sells it, for a mini-meet and photos. How about somewhere in the middle, B660 near Bedford?

I’m free this Saturday

Ooh, will have a re-read of that later. 0-100 in 9.2s - GT3 is nippy then!

Don't want to sell after reading that. :(

Ours should be a little bit quicker than the one in that article and Litchfield themselves told me to get the "Hawkeye" over the "Blobeye" as the suspension set up was better (and the Arai is a bit different again).

(And white wheels are faster obviously)

My problem is 15k seems like a massive sum of money to me because I've not bought cars in GBP for so long. If I convert to local currency it seems like chickenfeed.

Mate of mine here was gutted today because a Mk1 Escort RS Turbo went for 16k before he could get a chance to buy it. Seemed like lunacy to me until I applied the above, and then it still seemed like lunacy.

Mk1 Escort RS Turbo . Engine from the mk3?

Edit: Hang on, do you actually mean the FWD hatch Escort RS Turbo?? Why would anyone want one of those for any amount?

Agreed! Best part of 3 seconds quicker to 100 than the CSL!

I was thinking that it was pretty cool that you could recreate that test with cars from the forum while flicking through the scans, then saw that comment. Do it .

Scoobs are a tough sell, any scoob. These are great (even though I don't share the negative feelings about the 2.5) but probably a little overshadowed by the Type-RA and that's what most will look for I think. Still it looks like it's in perfect condition and will sell eventually. I posted it up on the Hawkeye facebook group.
I think the WR1 and RB320 are coveted by the 'i'm not buying an import crew' so it artificially inflates their prices as halo cars for the officially imported range.

Carl.

Because fanboy.

Unfortunately they don't love yours. I reckon my mini will have more kudos.

Yes, sadly that's exactly what it is. Like an XR3i but with a hairdryer bolted on.

He's an RS fanboy. I don't argue with him because he's bigger than me.

I can see that being relevant when they're nearly new, but a decade on I though the JDM-yo! models would have a bit more of a following. The people who buy new are scared of imports, the people who buy classics want something special.
