I take it your neck of the woods is not littered with Corsa's, Astras and Vectras then?Jimmy Choo wrote: ↑Fri Jul 27, 2018 11:18 amVauxhall are still going?
I could see myself going to buy an R8 but at the last minute buying a 911 instead.

Re: Car companies with no cars you desire.
Probably most of them to be honest.
There are very few new cars I would actually chose to spend my own hard earned money on if I had enough to consider buying one.
There are others I would happily drive if someone were to give them to me, but very few I have any real desire for.
Ford, Vauxhall, skoda, seat, Kia, Hyundai, Subaru, do Mitsubishi do anything decent these days?
Probably easier to list the ones I don't mind, of the mainstream manufacturers it's probably limited to the Golf GTi / r, a few bmws, Alfa guilia quadro, and that's probably pretty much it. Some of the fast audis are ok, but doubt I'd chose one over the equivalet BMW / Porsche. Honda nsx is alright but a car in its own right rather than part of a complete lineup.

Vauxhall. They're just white goods for people who aren’t interested.
Re: Car companies with no cars you desire.
I don’t understand why Vauxhall are so popular in this country. Is it just because they’re built in Britain or can you walk into a dealer and lease one for £50 a month?

I also don’t like modern Ferraris, the closest I’d get to looking at a new one would be a California. Older Ferrari’s such as the 550 Maranello I still drool over.
I also find myself agreeing with a lot of people’s choices in this thread with the only exceptions being Ford and Jaguar (XJ, F-Pace and a secret desire for a V8 F-Type coupe when they’re about £15k for a decent one)

It’s a combination of the two. Worst of the GM brands and they’re about ten years behind everyone else. Shittest modern car to drive too.

Not new ones. I don't think anyone has bought a new Astra since 1996.

Is the GT still on the Ford range?

Yep. The American Ford stuff is pretty cool.

Yes. Back in the 70s and 80s, a large percentage of the car buying public bought either a Ford, Vauxhall or BL, with many just going out and replacing their Viva with a Chevette, then the Chevette with an Astra and so on.
A bloke at work just bought a 2 year old, bottom of the range Astra and is insanely happy with it. I don’t get it but he likes it.

I had no idea but this is very exciting! Imagine how mundane they can make cars now with their combined talents for mundanity!!

Personally its a very long list. Much easier to list the ones of interest:Jimmy Choo wrote: ↑Fri Jul 27, 2018 11:03 am It's Friday, it's hot and I'm bored on a call so I'll ask you all a question.
Which car companies have no cars in their current range you're interested in.
I'm left cold by Audi. The RS6 comes close but not close enough. Citroen haven't had anything since the Xantia Activ.

I'm guessing you've driven cars from a fair few more marques to get down to that list?SSO wrote: ↑Sun Jul 29, 2018 3:19 pmPersonally its a very long list. I bet if he drove a Ford for a day - and probably for the first time in his life - he wouldn't look back.NotoriousREV wrote: ↑Sat Jul 28, 2018 9:36 amYes. Which Renault interests you? The only one I can think of is the Alpine which isn't really a Renault at all although does seem to have the alarming unreliability!SSO wrote: ↑Sun Jul 29, 2018 3:19 pmPersonally its a very long list.
