Big guy - we know how old you are. You tell us in every other post! It's all good 8-) - and not only because most of us need someone to feel young in comparison to these days

Nissan pao

Various American crap from hydraulic suspension wire wheel and metalflake 80s lowriders to 50s gasser style hot rods.

K-series metros

Honestly, if I gave it some thought I could probably write a list of hundreds of cars most people are crap but I would buy if I had the space / money

You are of course correct drunk JL. I liked the seats in my pic though.

I was sober but bored so thought I'd go fishing

Agreed that the interior in your pic did look pretty epic.

We had a few CXs - a saloon n/a diesel that just lalloped along quite happily, an estate 2l petrol that sucked, an estate n/a diesel that was painfully slow but still surprisingly nice and the turbodiesel estate that was really, bizarrely rapid (or at least felt it in comparison to the other slugs!)

HORRIBLE cars to run, massive suspension issues and the ventilation was so bad it was actually dangerous in the winter. But they had massive single wipers so all was forgiven.

Yeah you would never recommend a big Citroen to anyone but I still like them.

Wrong time of day for a fishing expedition btw, I only really get into dumb arguments on the internet when I'm bored at work .

I guess this confession would also be on topic:

I didn't hate the Vel Satis or the Avantime either :(

I was actually looking at C6s the other day, just out of curiosity. I saw an Avantime not long ago as well, looked very rough. They must be quite rare at this point.

I think they sold about 2 so that's no surprise they're hard to find!

There’s a road around the corner from Waterloo station that has a collection of Citroens. When I walked down it last week it had - SM, DS Safari, DS, BX gti all in a row. The DSs are very rough though!

There was a guy around the corner from me when I was a kid who had 4 SMs in various states of disrepair on his drive. His plan was to take all the good bits and put them into whatever one had the most intact bodywork. Don't know if he ever got round to it, wouldn't surprise me if they all ended up getting scrapped :(.

"I'm so unlucky, if I bought a Renault Avantime, I'd probably write it off in a head on collision with a Vel Satis."

That is brilliant

Saw a Vel Satis in France a couple of weeks ago.

I used to enjoy Renault going a bit mental every now and then (Clio V6, Sport Spider, Avantime etc)

You're absolutely right - I must stop fixating on age. My new nickname (Big guy) will take some getting used to as I'm only 1.73m, but I'll try and live up to it, and maybe even buy a taller car someday. ;)

This is the internet, you can be as tall as you like. I've been lying to these guys for years FFS, they even believe I have a load of bikes, cars and a boat - simpletons

I stopped growing at my current height as I read in the 1960s that it was the ideal for Lotus Elans. (Got one in 1978).
