That’s quite compact, I’ve seen this fold-out type mainly, which is 4 berth 😮 which is a LOT of weight

Look at the dimensions, 180 for the sleeping length. I wouldn’t fit 😂

I reckon even Jobbo would be a little claustrophobic in that!! ;)

Get it on Klarna though 😂

I must admit, at a show I was at the other week there was an 80s Nissan Patrol with chunky wheels and a Latitude roof tent, with big fold out awning. It was a very cool setup tbh. Hate to think how much it cost though! Probably more than any car I own to put it on!

I'd be fine on my own

I'd fit in the 183cm length no problem. I don't think I'd be comfortable in the 60cm width allocated for each of the 4 occupants.

The only use I can see for a Roof Tent is for covert wild camping out in the countryside.

Arrive in a remote location late, pop the tent, kip and be gone in the morning. Places where a flat spot for a real tent aren't available.

Other than that, it's an awful amount of money for something that only provides 1 of the 4 main uses of a tent - sleeping, cooking, storage and shelter

At 46 there's no way I won't need a pee in the night. Fuck navigating down a rickety ladder at 3am in the dark. Would rather use the 4k saving towards several hotel stays with a en suite.

These have been popular in places where sleeping on ground level is not a good idea - Africa, parts of North America. The UK… probably just the “one life” brigade finding the latest fad

Full disclosure, I did add one when spec’ing up a 911 because a European tour… but that would be alone and a bathroom was a major concern! 😁

Australia too - all the Aussie 4wd Action videos have them sleeping off the ground to avoid spiders etc climbing in with you.

Pee bottle. I always use a bottle when camping alone and dispose in the morning

Yep, every other ute and 4x4 has them, plus awning.

They're missing an opportunity to fit a hole lined with a poo bag in the overhang section.

That's not why you want a hole in the floor in the overhang... you filthy pup... ;) :D
