Have you been able to configure a nice orange for the interior lighting to go with the outside? I found purple straight away and didn't look any further

I have mine set to green (and now have green Yeti cups

)
Lovely colour! Delighted that people are buying colourful cars again!
Regarding fecpoty (and efcpoty) is there a minimum ownership timeframe to be eligible, and anyone fancy a sweepstake on how long Mike keeps this one!?
Shame you didn’t e-start the Dakar, M3 and M5 when ready on the same road, so we could make our own comparison.. some lovely metal you’ve had

POTY will be decided by RichB's colour preference.
Neither is actually eligible for the 2026 award, as they were purchased in 2026.
True. Should have bought them next year for this year.

Future Evo car purchase of the year

I did wonder if you could change that... I've not had time to look at it tbh, so that's on the list for later tonight!

Set aside a few hours to go through changing settings then
I turned off the wanky noise and graphics when you get in/start up as well.

Applauding the recent colour choices on here.
There was a dark grey one parked on the street in front of me while I was stood waiting for someone the other day. I hadn’t realised it was an M5 til I noticed the red flappy paddles so had a walk round the back to check the badge. It also looked smaller than I expected.

For some reason the first thing that came to mind was the Aston thing of Power, control, beauty or whatever that was.
Then I imagined a screen that says "Live, love, laugh" in a horrible font, and the sound of a drunk estuary girl cackling in a wholly grating manner.
I think there might be (more) things wrong with me

I think I'd keep that. Dirty.

More importantly:
Is your wife happier with the seat?

100% happier which = easier life = worth it.
Interior light bar is now orange, thanks for the tip. Still very strange starting it up in hybrid and moving away in silence.

Rule 117b says we
all have to get one now.
<shakes piggy bank>
Are we allowed to spend the rrp of the M5 on a 520d instead?
I'm going to swap badges on my 535d and hope noone notices that it's the reincarnation of
@Gavster;s AheM5.

I always opt for a light blue hue - I find it better when driving at night...

Yeah, I had to drop my daughter off at the bus stop at an ungodly hour today and orange is pretty full on.
I take it this has rear wheel steer? I should check, but there's a couple of crazy tight bends up to the house and this gets round in the same turning circle as the M3 if not better.

The interior would have to be grey velour with diamante accents on the door cards. Maybe an additional screen message that says "No time for snakes, just you and the kids now"

It does - I think I read that below 43mph it steers the opposite direction to the fronts and above that it steers the same direction. It can't steer the wheels much; I don't see them move and I do see them move on our Cayenne (which is nice because it was a £1400 option, IIRC, so at least I know they fitted it

).

Only 1.5degrees apparently.
But - clearly - that's enough to notice.

It has a decent turning circle so it's apparent that way but I haven't spotted the rear wheels turning even on our cameras. You can see the Cayenne rear wheels steering on the cameras.
ETA: Cayenne steers up to 3 degrees apparently. When will I see it again?

Even Lego cars had it over 30 years ago so it's not a massively advanced technology

Yeah I think it was a Mazda 626 where it first appeared so by no means new at all.
do you think you could get it confused if you drive at exactly 42 to 43 miles per hour and sawed at the wheel...
Edit - it was the Honda Pelude in 1987
