The PH comments are
fucking hilarious, one clown on there complaining it doesn't have a boot. Do you even
like cars??
I’d have 2 if it was slightly more practical

I can confirm that HPE is also available with the boot.

But, but, but...
Lovely thing, but in BRG or Norfolk Mustard please.
Not looking like it's been sprayed with rattle cans.
Never change, Pistonheads.

If you want to have a laugh, go to the Tillet seats website and put yourself a couple of B7's with pads in your basket and some EBP side mounts and look at the total cost with VAT.
I paid £10,300 for this elise in 2012, it was a 38 thousand mile 111s so a pretty sought after model. My seats cost almost as much as the car did
They only weight 3 kilos though which is pretty cool.

I'm guessing they're heated and cooled at that price, yeah? /Pistonheads

They’ve got fleshlights in them as well.

PH users regularly know the cost of everything but the value of nothing.

Needs the HPE logo on the headrest.
I also need an HPE logo sticker for my car!

Photos are amazing by the way. The whole thing is amazing.
It's a bit annoying that people are comparing it to the Analogue car, it's a different category. The Analogue is a nice car, but I was pretty underwhelmed by it when I had a look round it, it's got all the usual bits on it but there are lots of well sorted Elises out there with most of those bits on it. Yours is so much more, the details are insane.

The piston head thread is hilarious like
Someone saying that your
bare carbon fibre looks like rattle can paint
And people complaining about the price never saw the photos of that crank you’ve got in it……… the precision in that one piece alone

It was inevitable really and I don't mind. Steff's done a lovely job on his cars and opened the door to this kind of thing so good on him.
Even Julian Thompson has waded in on PH so its got people talking. I was going to build this car for me regardless of whether it went out into the world or not so it makes no difference to me what people say. I'll take him up on his bet he could get round a circuit quicker in his radical though

I wouldn’t buy an Analogue Automotive one. I would buy one of Dan’s - probably not the 500 to be fair because it’s wasted on me. But any of Dan’s from a straight Honda conversion upwards. Duncs has it right.
With things like the Alfaholics restomods, I think they tend to quote the basic price then send out way more expensive cars for review. That’s probably quite clever marketing. Can you create something for ~£100k which inexorably leads to this level, Dan?

We basically don't have any options as everything is already included, but its something we've deliberated over and need to communicate properly when the proper website goes up - we just have a holding page for now as the invite to this show and the subsequent launch was quite recent and as a result it became a bit of a rush to get everything in place, but it was good to have a deadline.
https://www.hpe-sv.com/
But yes, I think thats how just about everyone else does it, including Analogue.

Yeah, I'm not putting down what Stef's done really, in the context of Elises it's still a really lovely car, and when that was first unveiled I think there's a lot of parallels in the everyone was saying the quoted £100k was crazy money. But that car to me is just taking everything that has evolved in the aftermarket scene and wrapping it up in a bow for someone who just wants a really well sorted Elise out of the box. I believe your car has much more in-house engineering / R&D and proper trick components that you won't find anywhere else, and that has taken many years and no small amount of money. Of course, people on PH being able to understand that is probably a bit of a stretch.
Definitely great to get Julian Thompson commenting and people talking, maybe the headline price is actually no bad thing as it generates debate!

Yep my sentiments exactly, there aren't many parts you can buy on my car from eliseparts....
Its the totally expected reaction though, I wasn't expecting many people to go 'yep thats worth the money and looks like a great idea'
I love it though
