Have the feeling that I need to scratch that Aston itch at some point too - DB9s are very tempting these days!
Vantages seem to be not too bad to maintain (possible words for my gravestone).

Happy belated 40th. I also love the mini-you next to the Aston.

I think I've linked it before, but there's a Readers car on PH that's a bloke subtly upgrading a V8 Vantage. Look great now, and gives some interesting insights into ownership.

The bakery just added it to their socials... apparently the whole thing took 30 hours!

And this is why I can't afford a real Aston.

If it's the bloke I am thinking of he has managed to do all of it in spite of his car living in an underground parking garage, so it can't be so bad.
Of course @Sundayjumper might want to weigh in!

On reliability ? Well, as far as I know, mine has been 100% reliable since the MOT in December. It’s also 100% not left the garage

In all seriousness, it’s been a good car. It needed a thermostat & bonnet micro switch just after I bought it in Aug 2017. I’ve replaced the boot & bonnet gas struts as they were getting weak - the bonnet wouldn’t even stay up when the weather was cold. I replaced the battery last year. It was the original. The only slightly spendy thing it’s suffered is the rear lights. The LED driver board inside the light housing tends to fail. The nearside on mine failed. I had it repaired; it failed again about 18 months later. I bought a s/h unit with a good driver & cracked lens and made one good light from the two of them. Touch wood, that one’s still working.

They’re pretty solid cars. There’s always quite a few high mileage ones for sale - evidence they’ll cope just fine with regular use.

@Explosive Newt - if you're ever down Berkshire way you're welcome to take it for a spin.
