I'll have £10 on none of this will happen.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a decent quality but not too expensive tool chest? We're hoping to have the new shed/store thing finished soon and whilst we've got shelves for the the power tools and stuff, it would be good to have some sort of unit with drawers which will just take all of the smaller tools and ratchets and stuff.

I’m still pleased with the Larbanke cabinets I purchased. I still have the castors but the feet work better for me, and the mix of shallow & deeper drawers is ideal.

Clearly my search skills are failing me today!

I need a new manuel screwdriver "handle", and noticed that Screwfix are selling these for £25 in store / £30 delivered.

I don't expect to use the over-gearing feature very often (not least 'cos it requires both hands) but in normal operating mode its a quality wera tool, so - thought I'd give it a whirl (boom boom)).

I have a few Wera pieces and they're excellent.

Might have to check that out

My brother (installation engineer/fitter 'technically' but has certs for industrial electrical etc) and he's a fan of Wera's stuff, too.

I've some Wera stuff and love it. Might pick up one of those drivers - looks so useful!

Spanner's feel horrid and for tight stuff are not practical.
Screwdrivers are brilliant, a really nice bite to the heads.
Sockets are very nice but the ratchets are a bit bulky and too much plastic.
Torque wrenches are lovely.

Where they kick butt at is when you buy a full tool kit, lots of nicely packaged roll up cases and neat carry bags etc.

I've a few sets of the screwdrivers and combination screwdriver. For the smaller 3/8th stuff they are a really nice tool to own so I can see why a lot of electricians and smaller engineering folk have them.

Late to the thread but on a new M340i you will need BMW tools to reset the service intervals on the car - Especially for plugs. If you dont then you will get a drivetrain error appearing on the idrive.

This just arrived, (very) initial thoughts.

Handle looks a bit weird, but is extremely ergonomic. When locked in "normal" 1:1 mode - it's pretty solid. Minimal backlash. I was slightly nervous about this aspect, so this is a relief.

Just tried zipping a light switch screw in and out on the 4:1 geared mode - works very well - and I realised I'm used to using a manual driver two-handed as my current one has a ratchet feature - which doesn't actuate in the above scenario unless you hold the screwdriver shaft to give it some resistance. So it feels very natural (for me) to use. Driver bit locking feature feels solid too.

I'm not about to throw my DeWalt impact driver in the bin, but this appears to be a decent hand tool, with a useable additional feature/capability. Happy at this price.

Went to order one of those Wera thingies but it says collection only and nowhere near here has any in stock

Just checked - unlike yesterday I see the same. Collection only, and zero stock in any Glasgow stores......

All other sellers are still up around the £58 mark, so I'm guessing a Screwfix pricing cock-up......
