I sometimes think these people do check their mirrors and are relying on your judgement to see if it’s ok to overtake rather than not seeing you
Knowing people, this sounds plausible.

But I doubt they take into account that you’re in a 911 and they’re in an Aygo.

I will typically build momentum right behind them which is also handy as in 3/4 of cases they put the foot down once you draw alongside them.
Exactly this. Was out in Essex countryside today behind a Tesla doing no more than 45mph around a load of NSL twisties. Being in a 2.0tdi I don't exactly have bags of power to whizz around him, so I waited for a good long clear stretch, wound up my speed behind him and then pulled out to perform the overtake. Should have been a quick out, pass, then back in.

However, the overtake took ages. I was doing 80 (kph) when I got past him. Dickhead clearly put his foot down when his fragile little Muskian ego got dented. Obviosuly I had totally fucked off into the distance by the time we'd gone through a couple of corners. But why the fuck would you do that? It's just pure idiocy, and dangerous to boot.

The problem with that is people don't know if your flash means "too slow, idiot" or "after you, I'd like to die in a fireball please".

So I wouldn't do that.
Occasionally they see it and drive into a ditch which makes it worth the risk.

Talking about overtaking, it's absolute pea soup up here for miles and there's some poor sod doing Lands End to John o'Groats in an old tractor. All of this is creating the perfect storm of the A9 north going at 20 mpg with nobody able to pass until he pulls in to a layby.

I am glad it is next weekend I will be on that to go visit my parents.

Agree with all the observations on crap overtakers, and people who are crap at being overtaken.
