I had them on my second E61 545i Touring along with SE suspension. The first one had the sports suspension. Same size wheels. The handling and the ride were way better on the second; the anti-roll thing (called Adaptive Drive at the time but they've changed the name a few times since) made all the difference and even made it more fun to drive.

So obviously I didn't spec them on the Cayenne because that's got air suspension as standard and I didn't want to spent nearly £3k on one option

My previous M135i had it replaced at 18 months old.

Bro had a 335d wagon and it was lovely but I didn't get a want feeling. Not much else to compete in that sector mind.
pretty much that, I find it a bit whiite goods. And it really is terrible to drive. I may be more sensible to get 4 Bilstein B6 shocks, apparently they are transformative.

I am not rushing though, I loved my Merc and would have kept it but for the lek into the ECU, I then rushed to replace it before it died, then rsuhed to get the Superb when the Golf got pinched, so I am just going to take time and make sure I get something I really want.

The superb gets over 40mpg on a run and I am averaging 38/9 ish which, for what the car is, is impressive. Huge boot, utterly anonymous rear legroom, lots to admire.

I wonder if the Octavia VRs wagon would have been a far better option, usefully smaller but just that little bit nicer to drive.

You're not wrong - it's a great car, but it's not going to stir the soul regardless of how incredible it is as an all-rounder. And yes, the handling is pants. We've a slightly weeping shock so when that reaches the point where it really needs sorting we'll likely go down the Bilstein B6 route. The wife loves the car and I can see she won't want to get rid.

I've got a weepy shock too  o/s front. Sounds like an expensive next service. Cambelt, gearbox + b6.

I drove a very nice 2018 335d yesterday but they wanted daft money for it, but as it was so close, at least I got to have a go.

It was so compsosed over the backroads I took it on, that the Superb just pogos over.

It also had cream/white leather. Nice but the similalry coloured trim looked like it would mark easily.

I popped it in Sport just for a second and dear god it shifts. It had also had digital dials, was that standard? In photos it is really hard to tell if it was a thing, or an expensive option on later cars?

So, I will probably look for a 330 or 335D just a little cheaper than £25k!

5/6/7 had the option of a full digital dash. Not sure if it was available on the 4/3/2 ?

The whole thing was black, but not sure it had silver dials
